Noted previously, I hate Iowa State more than any other Big 12 team. I look forward to seeing the visitors from Ames demolished by a Colorado team finally clicking.

I've been looking forward to this game all week, and not just because a 1:30 kickoff gives reasonable justification for morning alcohol consumption.

Just curious, why do you hate them so much? Think I have a pretty good idea, but not sure.

this game will dictate the path our team takes the rest of the season.
If we can win wtih Salter, we ride with him anohter week or two. It gives us hope of a bowl game.
If we lose with Salter, I feel he's done for the season....and teh season is lost.

either way, I'm stressing about thsi game but showing more apathy as the season progresses.

Guess you’re right. I would feel torn if we barely win with Salter but he’s awful.

The difference for me is that I can stay engaged if we lose with JuJu, but I don't think I can handle losing with Salter at QB.
People like to say, "I'd rather lose with Juju with him throwing 3 INTs and taking sacks than lose with Salter" and I don't buy that. If Juju comes in and looks terrible, the meltdown will be epic, regardless of him being a freshman.

I think it would be more on Shurmer that everyone gets pissed at. At this point, the season is on the brink. Juju has not had a fair chance. I think being a freshman will play into a tempered reaction. I could be wrong.

Matt Campbell teams, a bit like Darth Snyder teams, don't seem to beat themselves too often. Unlike the 2025 Buffs thus far. So, I don't love that angle.

However, at home, I could see us put it together and win. Not saying it's gonna happen, however.

If Juju plays and has a poor game and they lose, the narrative will be they have to find a completely different QB1 for next year. It's just how unreasonable fans operate. This Juju/Salter decision has to be handled with kid gloves and CP has to be very careful with it. As soon as they make the decision to move off of Salter, there's no going back. If Juju looks good, it gives them a lot of momentum with the fanbase and recruiting going into the offseason. If he looks like ass and they keep losing, it absolutely destroys any momentum.

3-9 going with Salter the whole way puts this program right back to the Karl Dorrell era. Keep doing the same things with the same coaches and players and I'm telling you; they're going to need 2+ pages for the "injury" report coming out of the bye week. People don't understand how precarious things are right now.

I didn't say Salter the rest of the way. But 6 games of Juju has the chance to go sideways in an even bigger way if he's not ready. CP isn't just holding him back to appease Salter.

There's a good chance we go 3-9/4-8 no matter who's behind center. At least with Juju, HCP has the "youth/preparing for future" narrative to work with in the offseason.

We want/need the narrative to be Juju more as Caleb Williams coming off the bench as a FR at OU to beat Texas.....than Malachi Nelson at his 3rd school QB 1 for a bad UTEP team.
Agreed, which is why the staff has to be very careful about when they insert Juju. To be clear, I'm not advocating for one thing or another, I'm saying that at the moment, I'm going to trust CP on when he thinks the time is right.

Believe it when I say it.

Losing with a senior is just losing with nothing gained.

Losing with a freshman at least develops that player for next year while telling you what you have (if he's not capable of being the guy, find it out so you can get someone else here before next season).

The only way I'm ok with Salter playing is if the coaches feel strongly that he gives us the best chance to win and then that we actually do win.

Not with what we run as his skill set, I doubt it. You all know what that means. I'd say play JuJu or at least give him a few series or specials. I'm not at practice though, so that's the other part of it.

And I'm telling you HCP has a very precarious hold on this team right now. With so many distractions, I wouldn't trust him to call a timeout at the right time, let alone make the best personnel decisions. Oh wait...

And if Juju goes out there and blows, what happens to that precarious hold on the team? Juju represents the hope for this program moving forward and if that looks ****ty in front of the home crowd on National TV because he’s not ready, it will have the same if not worse effect

So, I think we're all in agreement we want Salter to be terrible, down 14 at half, and JuJu comes in to lead the Buffs to a 10 point win.

Prolly not going to happen, but sure.

My prediction is that we get off to our typical 14-0 lead, don’t score again until the 4th quarter again, at which point we’ll be down 28-21, we end up losing 35-21, and much ranting and gnashing of teeth continues amongst Buff fans. The fans start booing and chanting for Juju after our 3rd consecutive three and out to start the 3rd quarter, but Prime don’t give a ****.

Did you just use the exact script from last week?
