h/t to HawkinsIzTrash on the Rivals board (for the post and the creative screen name ).

2015 Pre-Camp Roster: http://www.cubuffs.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPSID=3845&SPID=255&Q_SEASON=2015

2014 Season Roster: http://www.cubuffs.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPSID=3845&SPID=255&Q_SEASON=2014

Here's one comparison for you guys (listed projected starters first, followed by primary backups):

Offensive Linemen2014 Weight2015 Weight
Jeromy Irwin (6'5" Jr)295295
Gerrad Kough (6'4" So)295290
Alex Kelley (6'2" Jr)305315
Shane Callahan (6'6" Jr)300300
Stephane Nembot (6'7" Sr)295315
Jonathan Huckins (6'4" So)305305
Sam Kronshage (6'6" So)285285
Sully Wiefels (6'3" Jr)300295
Colin Sutton (6'5" So)290285
John Lisella (6'4" Fr)265285
Josh Kaiser (6'5" Fr)270280

And here is what the true freshmen OLs reported in at:

Offensive LinemanHeightWeight
Aaron Haigler6'7"255
Tim Lynott6'2"300
Dillon Middlemiss6'5"290
Isaac Miller (GS)6'7"265

Liking the size of the freshman LB's. Seem to have some depth behind Solis youngsters but at least have some size. Justin has to be big time!!

Really hope Gilbert is a legit 235, that would be great. Not so happy to see Apsay at 190. And Yuri... yeah.

Carrell (275) and Robbins (265) will definitely help on the DL. Solis, McCartney and Kafovalu round out a pretty strong lineup.

My only expectation is they are better than last year...which as long as they are vertical and breathing shouldn't be difficult. But if the D is gonna make a jump like the O did last year, it's gonna start on the DL...especially with the apparently weak LB lineup.

Bret Tonz checks in at 300. Tuiloma at 315, Umu at 290. Getting some beef on the DL. I thought Samson was way over 260. Solis is huge.

Watanabe at 240, Rippy at 230.

Nembot, holy *****, he's gonna kill somebody this year.

cant wait for the season to start.

Can't infer too much on the weight thing. Has anyone seen any of these guys? We need "eyeball test" results.

I saw Kafovalu 6 months ago, now way was he 260lbs, much bigger 6'5" 285 easily! HCMM said Kafo would be used at all DL positions if need be. If he was 260lbs that would be unlikely IMHO. HCMM interview with Lambardi said Franke was 290!? I think the roster is smoke and mirrors. Looking at the roster 2014/2015 how is it that OL/DL only gain 5lbs?? Losing 10 lbs?? I call BS....

So JACKED!! They get me every year

Really need kronsage to get his weight up and bridge the gap between Nembot and the young tackles on the roster.

Lisella is really impressive. According to what I've heard, he's a favorite of the staff and he's added a ton of weight in the last two years. Maybe he wins a guard spot.

Also it's good to see Rippy with some gains, apparently he's bought into the program and loves Leavitt. Could be a big surprise.

Mac was raving about how much strong AND bigger the team is and on the roster the line only gains 5 pounds? I call BS too.

I wonder if they do that on purpose so teams underestimate size and strength?

More than likely if these are accurate then they were overstating the numbers last year to try to not point out weaknesses. The last couple years we have had a lot of guys on the field who looked small next to opposing players who should have been similar size.

Also there is the obvious difference between a guy who is 290 with a spare tire vs. a guy who is 290 with a little bit of a belly.

If our guys are only five or ten pounds heavier than last year but are noticeably quicker and stronger then I'm okay with that.

Mac said bigger when he meant stronger. I know one guy who weighs the same but added 15 pounds of muscle. I would say he's a lot bigger but his weight is same.

I'll trade baby fat for muscle any day!

Look at Sully Weifels. He came in at 300+lbs. and after a year is down to 295 and I'll wager he is a lot more cut and stronger than when he entered.

Coach Mac said last week that he had work to do on his summer school JC class and wouldn't be done until Aug 4-5 or something like that....

The numbers don't lie they are getting bigger and stronger. Running program is very good and showing results.
