D+/D seems about right. I'd argue for a D- without that Cal game-- which was essentially the only point this season after about 3 quarters into the CSU game where I felt confident about the Buffs...

I live near Lawrence now, so I wind up watching Kansas more than anyone should watch Kansas. No idea how they didn't receive an F.

I'd go even lower than that-I'd say F if we didn't dominate Cal in the manner we did. CSU and two cupcake wins that were less than impressive in September and stealing a game over the worst team in the P5 that doesn't play in the Big 12 conference other than that leaves a lot to be desired.

1-11 Bailer doesn't get an F so I'll give them one **** Bailer!!
This. Since when would 1-11 team not get an F?! Wouldn't think there would be many people in their camp for any reason at this point, but I think this illustrates why this whole thing is going to just go away for them.

I can see the argument for a failing grade particularly after the year we had in 2016. Going from 10-4 to 5-7 and no Bowl game is pretty bad. What keeps it from a failure is the huge number of players that were replaced, particularly on defense, and the coaching turnover on defense as well. A 5-7 record in 2018 is nothing other than a failure.

So, what factors made us get a D+? I actually agree with it, but wondered what specifically causes that grade behind the scenes? Baylor grade is BS, considering their coach already is trying to run away and was already a jerk. Also, please note that San Jose State is a D, and if you look at the year after MM left, there apparently was not a foundation or culture built that helped keep them competitive. It appears, just like us that if you can get lucky and have an entire team of Seniors that grow up together and stay in school together, you can have a lucky 10 win season!!! I would argue that with the facilities and all other supporting factors it should always be a B, and should never be below the Rams!

I think the over riding consensus by most here, the media and probably the team is not living up to expectations. I think we maybe were a bit over rated after 2016 and they expected us to sustain that success but clearly we did not. I believe we are better than a 5 win team and that’s why they deserved the score, they failed to carry the momentum from season to season.

Hmmmm, after Hawkins left Boise, Boise kept rolling. Are you suggesting that DH > MM?

I would concur with your math to a certain level. MM is missing a few key things related to modern program building and it is pieces and parts of key elements, such as recruiting, internal competition among all class levels, and somewhat coaching depth throughout all the staff. Ego and other factors hold talented people back.

Too many A+'s. If you didn't win ypur conference, you don't get an A+ (sorry, Wisconsin).

Actually, wtf is an A+?

This is an interesting grading scale. It is clearly how a team did versus expectations. (7-6 NMSt gets an A+, while 7-6 FSU gets a D). So one's personal expectations would vary a team's grade.
