USC Game

I'll be in LA for work and will be looking to attend this game. My buddy contacted the AD and apparently this is no pre-game event because the last one at the Coliseum was a disaster. It was super expensive, poorly attended and apparently someone tried to choke a server in broad daylight? WTF?

Anyways, anybody going to this game? What's your plan? I heard the visitor section is typically 33 which looks like you're better off watching from the parking lot. I'm probably going to just buy tickets on stubhub unless someone else has a better suggestion. Anybody planning a tailgate?

How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?

I will be there. I've been to Many USC games. If you aren't a dumbass it is reasonably safe. There is practically a cop on every block. Pay the extortionist parking fee near the stadium. Don't linger for two hours afterwards. Simple.

What section are you going to sit in? How do you get your tickets? I'm hoping for a day game and therefore would prefer to be on the South side (visitor side) of the stadium so I'm thinking of trying to get tickets in section 5. Isn't the visitor section 33, 1 or 2? I've heard those sections are awful.

Try some off-street parking near the stadium to save a few bucks. Report back

I would have to say Liver's parking advice is the best. I went to see a Cowboys-Raiders game at the Coliseum. My buddy's truck was stolen, we were on foot after dark. I would have paid for the parking if we had it to do again.

Also, what are you going to wear?

Oh, and don't take surface streets except directly to the freeway unless you know exactly what you are doing.

If you are looking for a funky and safe place to eat dinner beforehand or afterwards, try the pantry. It is downtown and pretty close to the coliseum. Not fancy. Open 24 hours. Steaks, hash browns. That kinda place. There is a parking lot right across the street from the restaurant.

Walked by it, yeah it stunk. It was like a bunch of 60 year old sipping champagne. My brother and I just sat down with a group of USC students.

From what I could tell there is no tailgating at USC perse because the party is inside the campus walls. Everyone parks at a garage and is shuttled over to campus. On campus though the atmosphere was pretty liberal and there were a ton of groups parked around on lawn chairs and what not.
