just my opinion, of course, but i think it can be really good for high school football and for the profile of the quality of the recruits to have a powerhouse like this. they are almost always private schools for the obvious reasons, although usually they are catholic high schools.
the next thing that should happen is that other schools will see valor's success and will go after them by investing in winning. the next thing you know, you have more than one powerhouse program. and, these programs produce a lot of d-1 athletes. they are well organized, well-coached, and well-prepared. and, finally, if our Buffs demonstrate that they are worthy of being considered elite again, we will have far, far more quality guys in our backyard to recruit then ever before.
people have been bitching about the "unfair" advantage of private high schools in sports for as long as i have been alive. if you are tired of losing to them, do something about it. in socal, programs built themselves up to compete-- they invested in facilities, they stole coaches, they did the things necessary to compete and win.
