Saturday,I felt was on the staff. We are a better team than Arizona, and although adjustments were made, it was too late. It’s the first time I’ve felt this way since CSU 2014, But that one was on the coaches.

For color, my thoughts on lack of D line depth and recruiting certainly effect my perspective on this.

Hope (know)they rebound against OSU.

Defensive players definitely played a part in it but I completely agree. The defensive staff seemed completely shocked and it didn't seem like they had any answers.

Why they did not key on the run completely and make Tate beat them in the air is a mystery. He was 11/12 throwing, but was absolutely bending the D over with those runs.

and most of those throws were short dumps to the flat in space.

Rushing lanes and a shadow. But I don’t know the match ups well enough to know if viable.

Partner that with the offense not responding until the fourth quarter.

It is what it is. Mac has been better than I ever thought he would be. He has a couple guys I don’t like, but that’s true on every staff. They got out game planned on this one, and Monday morning Q Bing is easy. I think they’ll respond, but that was a win they needed.

Hopefully it is just one game. Maybe because Arizona was coming off a bye week and had extra time to adjust their scheme.

Since the move to the pac12 we've always had trouble with teams that had a legitimate rusher for a QB. This was not a new experience. The D just wasn't prepared for it. Even though we won last year, it was a similar game on that side of the ball.

Isnt that what a dual threat QB gives you? The LBs have to play in close in case he runs for it. The backs are downfield covering the runners leaving the safeties on an island. Hence, the flat is left open.

If he beats the LBs with his speed when he does run then the safeties and backs have to dump their coverage and try and tackle him.

Yes, I just meant it wasn't like he was beating us on downfield throws.

We’ve always had trouble against running QBs...Hawaii comes to mind. Our O was pretty good less a few missed opportunities to score. The D had no chance and Mac said as much in his post game. We will beat OSU (their O sucks) and get confidence back. After that the games are a toss up...except prob WSU...they look really good.

Or, it could be that Tate is indeed is the 2nd coming of Michael Vick. If AZ continues to paste 500+ yards on teams then you got to give the human phenom some credit. If he becomes human and can be contained by future opponents then we have a problem Houston.

running QBs are a pretty cool thing in college football, unfortunately our QB isn't apparently allowed to be a running QB for reasons
