Walters to 'braska?

That would only add to an already interesting offseason. We still do not know how the defensive coaching staff will shake out.

Other rumor is Oklahoma. One of the premium site guys put Walters on the "Hot Board" of candidates for the open WR Coach spot.

Checked around a couple Husker boards. It sounds like Walters name is picking up steam

Makes me wonder if he is actively looking. His name seemed to be in play after the coaching convention. Of course could just be message board fodder with no substance. We even see that here from time to time.

That would absolutely be the kick to the balls, that as a CU fan I haven't enjoyed in a few hours.

If the rumor started on the kNU rivals premium board -- there wasn't much to it. And their 247 publisher says Walters hasn't been contacted. They've been talking Bobby Kennedy, Eric Yarber and Matt Lubick too.

Walters name is going to pop up with what our WR corps has done the last couple years.

He was put on that ou hit board before the convention but the Nebraska thing is new. He is just a talented coach and recruiter so this will be common going forward

A couple big donors who post on the MB (Sparky) say they are hearing Walters to Nebraska. TIFWIW

Thanks. Did not see that.

BTW -- Looks like Kiesau is available. Surprised he hasn't landed one of the open jobs.

Drunk panda says there's no good coaches available, so this isn't possible.

That is what I was thinking. I woke up this morning, had some coffee, remembered I hadn't come across anything about CU to piss me off so I thought I should login to Allbuffs and see what I had missed.

Here we go....

jeez...whats next in buff land? .... i need some good news for once im starting to feel that the off season is just a continuation of what happened this fall

Walters is our best position coach and our best recruiter. I hope HCMM pulls out the stops to keep him. Obviously because we have a young up and coming OC, we are limited in terms of offering him career trajectory (unless Lindgren were to leave like next season or something). But as others have said, would totally blow if it is just a lateral move as WR coach elsewhere.

Yea, not sure how much more of AllthisCrap I can take? Really need to stop logging in and reading.

I notice you refer to them as 'braska.

Just my preference but Nowledge U seems more appropriate.
Allbuffs Rules of Conduct, Section 3, Paragraph 2, Subparagraph a - "In making reference to the state university and/or the state in which they reside, which is the 37th state admitted to the Union who's capital is named after the 16th president of the Untited States, the legal name of that state shall not be mentioned or written on this site. However abbreviated names, such as 'braska are allowed."

Hey, it's only a rumor. Do not melt down. If other teams are interested in him, it says at least something about our offense's success and also sends a message to other would be Buff coaches that your career can succeed in Boulder. Right?

Our old OC just coached a NC. I'm not sure that helped us much.

How many times over the past 5+ years have we had to worry about assistant coaches getting poached off this staff? This is just another issue facing successful programs year in, year out, and something that is typically a welcome "problem" to have. It's unfortunate some of these "successful program issues" are happening/rumored before the program is successful again but it does speak volumes about the offensive improvement this team has gone through in just 2 years.

Whole that's true, I'm now more concerned (given recent events) in our ability to successfully replace him if he leaves.

Problem is, the good ones leave and succeed at other schools, then we can not replace them?

Concern is justified, for sure. However, we should wait and see how this DC hire plays out before passing judgment on HCMM's ability to replace coaches. Regardless of how long it has taken, if it ends up being the right guy, my concern is alleviated.

Nice to hear a voice of reason. hopefully, when it is over this rumor alleviate or concerns about MMac and RG being able to keep good coaches here too.
