I haven't been as excited by it.

Maybe it's the way offenses have opened up to the point where we see so many blowouts that become uninteresting or turn into those old WAC Thursday night games.

Maybe it's because I'm so CU-centric that a 4-8 drags everything down for me.

Maybe it's that a lot of the big rivalry games didn't have their usual luster (UF-FSU, ND-USC, OSU-UM, UT-OU) and we've also lost or are losing some great ones due to conference re-alignment (ND-UM, CU-NU, UT-aTm, FSU-Miami, NU-OU).

Maybe it's that so many of the top-ranked teams this year played cupcake schedules.

Maybe it's that we've been having freshmen win the Heisman, so there hasn't been the same build up of getting to know the stars.

Maybe I'm just getting older, I don't like change as much, and sports isn't as important to me as it used to be.

Or maybe it's a bit of all that. I don't know. The game just is less entertaining to me than it used to be and this year seemed especially snooze worthy. Other than the Auburn miracles, there's not much I can point to that was special.

All of your points are legitimate. That said I enjoyed this season. Can't say I enjoyed it more than others but it was a good season.

I as well don't like the pinball scores and these teams that put up 45-50 points a game only to fold like a napkin when they face a tough team (yes Oregon, I'm talking about you.) I also miss fusker week and the KjSU trolls and playing the Sooners. In time we will develop some emotional buy in to our PAC schedule.

The biggest thing is not having any reasonable expectation of the Buffs playing in a bowl game. I do think the M2 has us going the right way and in the next couple years we will have that hope again.

It's also harder to pay attention like I used to with the kids and other responsibilities.

The college game also goes in cycles and it will be a better game when it cycles away from the SEC teams winning the NC every year.

watched the least amount of football I have ever watched, by far. not many good games. pretty meh. good NFL season tho!

No. This season sucked, and I really don't think it was because we sucked.

Hopefully, it's just an anomaly, because I can't put my finger on exactly why.

Probably just a combination of things, as you said.

No. I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe fewer star players? A.J. McCarron and that RB from BC were Heisman Finalists. I think both are good players, but nothing to get excited about.

College football is becoming less entertaining for me. Perhaps it's because the Buffs have sucked ass for a decade, perhaps it's because there's such a massive disparity between the top teams and everyone else. More parity is desperately needed. I also do not like the video game scores/play of the games these days. I guess I'm old.

When the Buffs suck, all of college football sucks.

I must say, though, that college basketball is awesome.:thumbsup2:

I watched less college football this year than I have in many years. Kids activities had something to do with it, but so did the fact that I just did not care as much. The not caring has to do with CU not being relevant. Onto hoops and hope for a bowl next year.

Will be better when we get mentioned on espn in a good light. Being more competitive and in the top 25 would make it even better.

As has been mentioned the continuing struggles of our team as they seek to make the long climb back casts a pall over college football in general for me. Get the Buffs back as a top 25 team and my enjoyment of college football will surge back up.

I think the season started out pretty interesting and kind of ended on whimper. CU stinking up the joint for the 8th straight year certainly didn't help.

I have enjoyed Auburn's magical season, but overall, nothing more than an average season. I think the new playoff next season will add much more intrigue.

I think we're in re-alignment hangover now. The initial excitement is past and we don't have strong rivalry games to get up for. It would help to have a reasonable chance at winning the conference. (Even just the south division).

With the Buffs down for so long it keeps chipping away at my overall interest. Just seems like we are still miles and miles away from even sniffing a bowl game. While teams like Rice, CSU, and others can feast on weak competition in their conferences and make bowls, we are lucky to win one conf. game. Looking at next season, even if we start 3-0, we still have to find 3 more wins in conference, which we haven't done since 2007, sigh.

We're not Miles away from a bowl game and up until week 11 last season we were still alive for a bowl game.

C'mon man. We beat CSU, two I-AA teams and Cal. We had USC and @Utah left. We might have technically been alive (due only to an exception made by the NCAA), but we weren't close to a bowl game this year.

4-6 heading into the last two games, both of which were winnable (Utah more than USC) and maybe without coming out flat in the first half in both of those games we win. We were close to a bowl game, certainly not miles away. Just because we played two FCS teams doesn't mean we weren't close.

Maybe if everything went CU's way against two better teams, we might have made a bowl game. Pretty much the definition of close.

Close in terms of record and much closer than we ever were under Embree or 2009 and 2010.

With the Buffs sucking, it takes a lot of enjoyment out of college football as a whole for me. So yeah, the season sucked.

IOW, not that close. Good to know.
It's not like we were blown out in the final two games. We had a chance, but didn't capitalize on it. In the end, we didn't and that's all that matters. My original point is that we are not miles away from a bowl game as someone else suggested. Miles away was a 2012-like season.

You know the difference between "close" and "chance" in this scenario, right? No one thought we were making a bowl game with two games left because everyone knew it was a remote possibility.

Sure, but we weren't eliminated until week 14 (or whatever week the USC game was). I guess I should ask, what is your definition of "miles away"? Mine as I said earlier is a 2012-type season. Maybe close is the wrong term, but I just disagree that "miles away" is the correct way to describe it.

We were somewhere in between. We made progress, but hard to say how
much.

Every CFB year is a great year to me,I'll be longing for 8/30 as soon as the clock hits 0:00 Monday at the Rosebowl.

Keep up the good fight 'tini, can't wait for spring ball already
