Way too early Montez pro thread

Watching Montez play the last couple of weeks, seeing his physical tools, his obviously calm presence, and knowing that he has plenty of time to mature both mentally and physically, I could see Montez being our first true NFL QB in a long time (I don't count Klatt's cup of coffee). I think we stumbled on gold with this guy.

How much would it mean to the program to have a guy talked about that way, not to speak of actually getting to that point?

Didn't he get a mention on ESPN for the 2018 draft? :ROFLMAO:

Way too early.

the kid made some big league throws against osu. when a young college qb has us out of our seats exclaiming "did you see that throw?" then you know you have something going.

still a long long way to go--- first, sefo has to lead us to the south championship this season, and then montez has to lead us to a new year's day bowl next season and a national championship in his 3rd year. then, he goes pro. heh.

Not as crazy as people might think for a QB in this offense.

we have ourselves a burgeoning "system" here. plug in new wideouts and they kick ass. plug in different qbs and they kick ass... we are building to greatness.

He's got tools. His dad had a cup of coffee in the league. Who knows? I'll worry about that when I'm 65.

Maybe a year earlier?

Since this is fantasyland we are occupying here, I'll play.
I did see somebody, somewhere in some crazy publication make the assertion that Montez is a name to keep in mind for the 2018 draft. That seems nuts to me, but if that does happen, it opens up the spot for Lytle, who will be a RS freshman in the Fall of 2018.

As to the OP, I think it would help our national perception quite a bit to get a QB drafted into the league.

It was McShay. One of the "Draft Gurus" ESPN.

True, but typically, stats have to be backed up by wins to get the Heisman and this type of offense hasn't been highly conducive for big time, winning football, outside of a few instances, because the defenses aren't usually all that great. If CU can keep the defense at this level or better over the next 3-4 years with Montez, then I agree.

He has played quite well in a couple games. But who is it here that mentions the George King hype meter?
