Jon Rothstein has us in the way too early top 25
He seems to be a big XJ fan as well. The hype of Derrick White is real.
White and XJ. So excited for next season. This team has huge possibilities for taking the next step. Also, Villanova is a prime example of what can be done with 1 big and very good guards plus combos. #TadBall
Been a long and painful journey... When you've been out this long from the game you get to thinking a lot about your life and career. I'm blessed to be able to play the game again. Getting back to working out has been a blessing. So if your out there taking time off.. Don't. Work harder because you never know when your last day of any sport will be. #NewFoundHunger#TheCreator
I still don't buy the USC hype.
Still, and I know the PAC 12 isn't divided into divisions for basketball, but there are five PAC 12 teams on his list, and four of them are in the South. I suppose it's a good thing, then, that we only play the southern teams once each next year (excepting Utah). Weird how that schedule works out.
USC lost a ton to attrition this offseason. Boatwright, McLaughlin and Jovanovic is a very strong core to a team, though. I expect them to be in the Dance next March.
What attrition? Only senior is @RumblinBuff's favorite Gavrilovic. Reinhardt is technically a loss, but only technically. And they're bringing in former Louisville player Shaq Aaron. USC is 100% legit next year.
Looks like Julian Jacobs is going to go to the NBA.
To your point, I think a good deal of optimism is the potential for good guard play. With White and Peters coming on along with Dom and AK with another year under their belt, the potential is definitely there.I love the optimism in this thread, but not to be a Debbie Downer...I'm tempering my expectations next year. I'm not the BIGGEST Scott fan, although I definitely appreciate all he did for CU. However, even I have to admit he brought a lot to the table, and without much improved guard play, I don't see us being better next year. Of course, I'm hoping that Dom does provide that improved guard play.
