There are teams of destiny: the 1980 Oakland Raiders, BYU in 84, CU in 90, etc... These improbable champions were just good enough and then got breaks when they needed them; as if the invisible hand of Joseph Smith deflected a kick here, granted a 5th down there, etc... Perhaps it was Satan in 1980.
Then there is bad luck. Everyone has some bad luck, but bad luck is not the opposite of destiny. CU is a team of tragedy. We are like Othello, DiCaprio in The Departed. We are the Jon Snow of college football.
Have we been a team of tragedy through this decade? No, CU was just sHHty prior to 2014. In 2014 we were a team on the verge. In 2015 we are a team of tragedy. We talk sHt about our coaches or players, and yeah there are some things to be desired, but these same guys could just as easily be sitting at 9/2 and the doyens of turn-around college programs. Instead we are the bad news bears, but our bus gets hit by a drunk driver after the game.
