I thought the OU/OSU winner would play LSU for title and I was ok with that before OSU laid a turd. You don't get to play for the NC when a suckass team beats you. You also don't get a rematch when the team already beat your ass this year. Oregonfan-LSU beat the crap out of you without their #1 QB. An all-SEC title game is coming your way. Enjoy it.
 
wow another 9-6 barnburner can't wait. I think I'll go cook some meth to get ready.

Exactly. Just thinking back to the '01 season and how a team that didn't even play in the conference title game got manhandled in the national championship team. I'm not even going to mention the name of the school. We were only .02 out of the title game. Ugh. After seeing that Fiesta Bowl in person, I think Oregon had the biggest gripe regarding not getting to play in the national championship game. It looks like it's definitely possible that something similar could happen. We'll see.

Oregon had a better record than we did and won their conference. We shouldn't have been in the discussion. If I remember Illinois had a legitimate gripe as well.

I think a team should have a conference championship under their belt if they're playing in the BCS Title Game. Plus, Oregon v. SLU for the first and last games of the season has a nice story-line. Thinks might be different next time.

As I mentioned before, in 2001 we lost our game with Texas 41-7, which is an ass-whooping, but went on to beat them in the CCG.

if Bama had lost AT LSU, I might be more excited. Punked on your own field, meh.

It was a poor choice and you know it. punked-Humiliated completely, as in disrespected. See clowned. Losing in OT when you are a 4 point favorite is not being 'punked'. Losing to the clowns in OT when you are 27 point favorites is being punked. You should have said 'beat'.
 
Sorry Charlie, looking at the faces of the fans in the stadium when Bama lost that game, they sure looked punked to me.

Your loyalties are clearly expressed in your handle but I don't think most of the country has much interest in seeing an LSU-Bama rematch. Oregon-LSU would be a much funner game with a wider geographic interest.
 
Alabama lost at home. Oregon lost in Louisiana. To me, that is a big difference.

And it bears repeating....... No team should play for a national title if they do not win their conference. The fact that it has happened means that the the "M" should stay in front of NC.....
 
I really hate Oregon. It wouldn't bother me if they get snuffed out of the MNC game, in fact I really don't want to see Oregon in it and would rather see an LSU-Bama rematch (boring as that may be).

That said, I think Oregon would beat Bama by 14+. They are a much improved team, and nowhere close to the team that played the first game of the season away from their home field. As good as the Bama D is, their offense could not keep up with Oregon's scoring... And there would be many TDs in the game, it wouldn't be a FG shootout...
 
Rooting for Arkansas big time. Would love to see 10 1-loss teams with legitimate gripes about getting into the big game.

Why don't we have Alabama play Oregon for the number 2 ranking and jut give the trophy to LSU since they beat BOTH this season.....

I mean the NCAA powers always say that the regular season matters so much!!!!!!
 
But...but....you guys don't understand - Bama will do better next time without having home field advantage! The SEC should get ALL the BCS bowl bids!
