We now go to Tuscaloosa, AL...

http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/HaHa_...leave-for-providing-money-to-HaHa-Clinton-Dix

The suspension of Clinton-Dix was over some money he received from an assistant strength coach. The strength coach is now on leave.

No big whoop, just a $500 short-term loan, and he paid it back, so nothing to see here. I'm sure this was just a one time thing.

Also, the strength coach may have a connection to an agent.

This is the part that may blow up more on them although in the big scheme of things this right now isn't a big deal and the NCAA isn't likely to try to make a big deal out of it.

If they can connect the strenth coach to an agent and connect the agent to current players they may end up with some guys missing games. They also will probably sacrifice the strenth coach to show institutional control meaning he will be out of a job.

At this point with Miami still hanging out there, Okie State coming up, and some others I think the NCAA will do almost anything to keep themselves from having to deal with another high profile case so if Bama gives them a reason to forget about this with a slap on the hand and some "self-policing" they will gladly move on.

Rumor is that more players are involved, (NFL bound starters) Hubbard and Cooper, possibly others.

Preliminary forecast: NCAA findings determine any infractions that MAY have occurred were inadvertent.

Clinton-Dix sits out the first half of the Nov 23 game against the Chatanooga Mocs.

I really don't care if a coach loaned a player some money and the player paid it back. I'm not sure I even have a problem with it, in principle, if an agent did so.

Beyond, of course, that it's an NCAA rules violation and what I really want is for everyone to play by and abide by the same set of rules.

That was the rumor on a barn board-the first rumor over there actually said all three had been kicked off the team. Dont hold your breath.

we take joy from the suffering of others. so, i will choose to believe the worst. thanks in advance.

It is $500 and it was self-reported. There is not much to see here.

DEATH PENALTY!

we can't have 2 sets of rules for violations. the way the ncaa can show the world it is objective and fair is to destroy bama football. forever. smu-syle.

What I think is interesting is the kid is driving a 2012 Dodge Charger. Used those are going for around $30,000 to $38,000, must be nice to afford a car like that as a undergrad........ Just saying I think this is where the questions need to be asked. I mean if I'm driving a $30,000 one year old car, I'll likely have at least $500 in my checking account............

That car would seem to be the elephant in the room

Star SEC football players not driving $50,000 cars is the exception to the rule. Needless to say, most aren't coming from shady family oil money, either. My most recent time in Oxford on a Friday night in the off-season a convoy of Escalades and other such cars drove by (this was early 2000s). "Oh that's the football players".
