Factoids! That are fun! And in the Big 12! And about football!
  • The Big 12 has more national championship appearances (7) than any other conference. (Yes, SEC fans. We know you're 6-0 and the Big 12 is 2-5.) But ... still.
  • Two of the top three active home-winning streaks are in the Big 12. Oklahoma will go for its 31st consecutive win at Owen Field against Utah State on Saturday, as well as the program's 800th win. Texas' 15-game streak isn't on the line at Reliant Stadium against Rice. Boise State has the second-longest streak, at 29 games.
  • This will be the first season since 1995 that Texas hasn't opened its season in Austin. The Longhorns beat Hawaii that year.
  • Colorado (3) and Colorado State (9) enter Saturday's game on a combined 12-game losing streak.
  • Entering his senior season with 23 starts, Texas A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson is the school's all-time leader in touchdown passes.
  • Only Texas (35) and Oklahoma (31) have won more games than Missouri (30) in the past three seasons. Texas Tech is fourth, with 29 wins.
  • Nebraska has won 24 season openers, the longest active streak in college football. The Huskers have also won each game by at least 10 points.
  • The Huskers also finished 6-1 in their last seven games last year, allowing 9.4 points a game during that stretch. (Ed. note: Ridiculous.)
  • Kansas State's last loss in a season opener under Bill Snyder? A 31-0 loss to Arizona State in 1989, Snyder's first year as Wildcats coach.
  • Kansas has won 20 consecutive night games in Lawrence.
  • Oklahoma State is 19-8 in the past 27 games under Mike Gundy.
