Heisman and national championship. Looks like they lost their chance to catch up to the Buffs yet again.

Exactly. Duck is a little bitter that his team has gotten owned by Stanford 2 years in a row.

Our Heisman and NC happened while most of us were alive and many of us watched those season in person or on TV so it counts. Pulling out the Princeton example is lame. Their Heisman winner has been dead for a long time, whereas ours, is 39.

Here are some things that only (about) seven football programs have:
  • National Championship
  • Heisman Trophy
  • Top 25 all-time wins (BCS programs)
  • Top 10 finish in every decade since the 1960's

Helfrich is NOT Chip Kelly. I think they peaked and really have nothing to show for it unless you count shiny new uniforms as an accomplishment.

Even if what you say is true, Oregon has unlimited resources. Helfy will be shown the door if he doesn't produce 10 win seasons every year. What are we demanding? A six win season and a bowl game?
 
I somehow did not realize we have had a top 10 finish in every decade since the 60's. That is interesting and definitely demonstrates that our program over the long haul has been pretty decent (i.e. not that we just had 1 or 2 good years). The question now is how long until our next top 10 finish?

You do realize that you are asking for a paradox right? Without our history, Colorado Football wouldn't be what it is today, and you would probably not even be associated with the program.

Someone get Doc Brown quick!

Probably not true, as the child of an alum and an alum myself. I'm just so tired of not looking forward to Saturday any more.
 
It's early, but from what I saw from the Ducks mentally last night, Helfrich isn't going to take them where they want to be.
