That was an incredibly humiliating loss - a huge does of reality. We were overmatched talent wise and Stanford was much tougher physically. And the players collectively seemed to tune-out Boyle and were soft - several simply quit playing hard which is surprising and unacceptable. I think CU's lack of talent is now really showing-up - teams like Stanford, UCLA, Arizona, Washington, Oregon etc just have recruited better players than CU has. I expect a tough end to the season.
As the coaches in the PAC 12 have game planned for CU a second time, we are beginning to fall to our talent level which is a lower level PAC 12 team. Our offense was awful against ASU, Utah and even Arizona before tonight. We have scored 57, 63, 55 and 50 points in our last four games, all second games against PAC 12 teams.
I think we have to play above our talent level to have any chance, and that is not happening. Unfortunately, I think the CU players might be beginning to realize that they are not very good. I am reluctant to say this, but I think the season could effectively be over, and we finish 0-4 and 10-8 in the PAC 12. Hopefully, I am wrong and we can turn this around, but I seriously doubt it.
