At least Maryland's uni's reflect their screwy (admitedly kinda cool) flag, I'd want to see the rest of the CU uniform, how logos are used and whatnot before I confirm my negative suspicions. I'm a bit of a traditionalist, but am FAR more concerned with the scoreboard than what the Buffs wear - as long as it's never powder blue again.
Oh... after seeing the above Bronco/Buff helmet pic, I still stand by this^^ in general.

I knew they were cheating, just didn't know they were handing out gold.
That was an item that you could get for purchasing a "balloon" at the football preview luncheon. I think it was a $5000 balloon, but I am not sure, as I was not playing close attention. I seem to remember Matt Russel saying something about the close relationship between the Donkeys and the Buffs.

It appears to be offset so that the pink "lance" is shown on the blue background. Prolly would look kinda shatty if the pink overlayed the gold.

The problem with that helmet, as a donor, is that it's impossible to display. I have a CU helmet in my office, but it's set at an angle to show off the Ralphie logo. Doing so with that helmet would only show one side or the other, not both. Setting it straight on would just look stupid. If we really want to look at alternate helmets, we should talk to the men's lacrosse team. Lacrosse produces some SICK helmets. Lacrosse pioneered the matte black look with Princeton partnering with Warrior, and our team has produced some nice looks as well (black with baby blue Buffs script). And Warrior just gave St. John's some really nice helmets

My 15 year old son thinks it is awesome. I'm willing to think recruits will too.
As much as I hate these new uniform concepts (and I realize the OP was not a real one), I'm in favor of doing whatever it takes to make CU gear a popular buy for kids in Los Angeles. It really doesn't matter if I think it looks ridiculous.
A good start might be some signature gold Nike shoes. Cleats for football & high tops for basketball.
