Have not heard much about or from EB? In a lot of ways I respect that from him. At least he wasn't waving the race flag.
 
I think the bigger ? is why in the world did they give a first time coordinator a 5 year deal? WTF

Is he not still employed by the university? His employmet may be a technicality, but his silence so far migt just be him meeting the demands of his contract.

Agreed.
Though if they could accept the demotion and work with MacIntyre to bring the program back, both Embree and EB are very good position coaches.
I think some of McCartneys comments go put on Embree. Embree is on record saying that he was not fired because of race, only that historical the data shows that he will not get another chance to be HC because of race. That is why this hurt so much.
A pipe dream I know, but If MacIntyre added his guys and:
EB as RB coach
Embree as WR
Brendan Carroll as TE & Special Teams
Lubick as Cornerbacks & Recruiting Coordinator (assuming Evans is coaching Safeties)
I would be pumped, assuming of course they all get along.
 
Zero chance Embree ends up on the staff as a position coach. Slim, slim chance for EB, IMO.

Well you got the buyout so not really a big deal, but at CU it doesn't really matter since you can only give ONE assistant a multi-year deal.

This is one of those things in hindsight, people wanted a return to the past so what better way than an Embo/EB como? IIRC many wanted EB to be the HC.
 
EB is probably still under contract for the time being, since they have to buy him out unlike the rest of the staff. And it might be cheaper if they do it in 2013 rather than 2012.

I don't agree at all. He was in way over his head as an OC so it is going to take a long time to get another chance. I know he is going to put AP on his resume, but you gotta admit that he looks better without EB coaching him.
