I'll get this one out of the way... Fire Lindgren. Terrible oc, Imo his play calling lost us wash state and usc and greatly inhibited our chances against Washington. He didn't help against UCLA but the game woulda been different if our wr wouldn't have dropped so many passes like they did again against asu which was even worse. Sefo trained with a QB coach in the off-season, what does that tell you about his ability to develop players? Dudes worthless.
Player personnel:
O line was very disappointing this year. Wouldn't mind seeing four brand new starters next year plus lynott. (Yes I know two Sr are leaving)
Wr: By far and away the most disappointing group this year Ross and Fields were complete liabilities at times. Hope to see winfree shenault nixon and ento play better next year.
TE: bounds is a good player I hope poplawski gets some playing time too. Big TE's can be a major matchup problem in cfb and we haven't had good TE's since Barnett.
Rb: Lindsay touched the ball a TON the past two years and it showed the second half of this season. We need two good RB's with this offense. Wouldn't mind seeing Nixon play a scat back role next year.
QB: open. Montez probably gives us the best shot at winning, he is insanely physically gifted, but I would be glad if noyer out lytle beat him out. ***More on this at the end.
D line: Edwards was disappointing but I thought Leo Jackson did a damn good job filling in for last year's guys. Don't know about next year, might be tough. I'm hoping we can get some more juco's.
Linebackers: gamboa is not a division one lb. Lewis is constantly out of position or missing tackles. Hopefully davion Taylor sticks with us, dude looks legit.***More at the end.
Secondary: losing Laguda hurts but I think we should be ok here next year.
MM and other coaches: *** we all saw how good Nate landman was. It really makes you wonder why he wasn't playing earlier. Same goes for our wr's. Shenault and winfree shoulda been stepping in about 6 games earlier when Fields and Ross were dropping passes against asu. The coaches need to make it known that if you don't perform you don't play. That is why I wouldn't mind if montez was beaten out next year. That is what frustrated me most this year. I don't care if they're seniors the coaches need to have the balls to pull them until they can be relied upon again.
