What if I told you...

Gillam needs an offseason. I think he still has a nose for the ball, but all that weight he lost from being sick right before the season started, his right arm injury, two concussions, and who knows what else, have really taken a toll on him. One thing I have come away with is the our defensive scheming seems good. It is more often that our players are in position but don't execute and I think that fixes itself with experience

Ever since our last NFL LB Brad Jones left we have had horrible luck at the position. Our glimmers of hope (Rippy and Major) were never the same after their string of injuries. Since then our Embree-era trio of Greer, Daigh, and Webb could have been beneficial to the depth of the group but were all forced into starting roles much earlier than they were ready for. Then you have the group that for one reason or another never got to contribute to the position: Liloa Nobriga (discipline), Kyle Washington (medical), Lynn Katoa (name a reason). And 2012 when Embree had a huge signing class but didn't take a single linebacker. We have some recovery to do here. I can see why the numbers are going to favor the front seven heavily this cycle.

All I know is it's not a good sign when Mark Johnson saw Addison in the locker room recently and thought he was a student trainer because he has lost so much weight.

Well, I don't know if I ever had an opinion on it. Getting ass raped by 60 every week does that to someone. They are non existent. That goes for the dline too. Geez our secondary would be very good if we could get any pressure. We need need guys like Bartlett.
