In thinking about how badly I want to beat Fresno, I realized that last year's loss is right up in the pantheon of the most humiliating defeats Buff nation has ever had to stomach. Which of these hurt the most to you?

Coming on the heals of the Sac St loss, if there was on option for worse combo, it'd be those two.

I was already deciding to go with Montana St while opening, but Sac St should at least be a choice (of its own, not other).

There have been too many in recent memory. To add a few. the Toledo loss was embarrassing. The 1999 and 2002 CSU losses were bad. I forget the year but I think it was 2003 and USC came into Folsom and we only managed like 45 yards of offense. There are more but now I'm getting too depressed to name them all.

We lost at home to Drake in the 5th game of the season, 41-22. Drake, for ****'s sake! At home! 5 games into the season! Worst loss in memory.

Went with Fresneck game because the entire team including coaches quit about 2 minutes into the game.

Honorable mention to the Mizzou 58-0 game

I said Texas because that was teh conference Championship game. We were the Northern Conference Champions. And got gang raped on national TV. Not sure if Drake was on tv. Not sure how good we were in 1980. But..in a conference championship game? losing by 67?

Horrid.

As embarrassing as the Drake loss was, since I wasn't there and didn't see it on tv, I can't say for sure what the most humiliating part was.

With the Big 12 title game loss to Texas and the Fresno loss, the team quit. Early. There's nothing more humiliating than seeing your team quit, especially early on.

voted ku since CU should have won that, then just flat out gave up and quit to a crappy team

I thought about that one but after the game was over I was happy. I knew they couldn't keep HaLk around after that.

Drake cut their program the next year, or year after. They were considered the worst team in football.
Drake was 8-3 in 1980 and cut scholarships to football in 1986 and did not field a team for a year. What made the 1980 loss even more horrible was that they had beaten CU the year before, in Folsom as well, and the Buffs couldn't get even in the rematch.

I would say in my 5 yr period when I was there. Texas beat the living piss out of us. When we couldn't score on those two red zone drives we just kinda like okay we ain't ganna win.

Good deal. I just remembered that they cut their program shortly after we played them.

I'm going with some of those D2-Missouri beat downs we received. While those may have been good Missouri teams, we were utterly incompetent in those games and did not belong on the same field. No one should ever get beat by freaking Missouri, let alone that badly.

I went with Fresneck last year. Just because they probably could have put up 120 if they had wanted. They just toyed with the Buffs like we were a middle school team.

You could probably say the same for Texass in the Big XII Title game, but CU was at least in the Big XII title game that year. At least that is a little something to point to to take away some of the humiliation.

I almost went with Drake, just because of the back-to-back losses to a complete nothing program. And that came on the heels of the Buffs actually being a very good program (Orange Bowl bid, IIRC) just 2-3 years earlier. But I'm not sure even Chairbanks worst teams ever looked as totally helpless as the Buffs did against (the other) FSU last year....

I'm voting for Fresno but I think another candidate worthy of consideration not on the list is the 2009 Toledo game as well...

Fresno, and it isn't even close IMO. Maybe because I wasn't around when we were losing to Drake. Texas wasn't embarrassing to me for a couple reasons----One, they won the national title that year. Two, the only thing most of us remember about that game is Joel Klatt getting blown up now.
