CU was not the only team int eh former big-12 without a baseball team, current member ISU has no baseball team.
ISU dropped about 5 years ago. FWIW.

I like the baseball idea but I don't think it makes much sense especially that Wyoming and CSU dropped their programs years ago. It really makes sense to have more local teams close to us instead of just AFA and Northern Colorado.
With Men's Soccer, we have the MPSF which includes DU and AFA. New Mexico, UNLV, Sacremento State, and San Jose State are the other teams in this conference. The Pac-10 does sponsor men's soccer but the MPSF would make sense for us.

Winters in Lincoln are far worse than Boulder.But that was during the summer.
