that the rise is real?

For me it was the first quarter against ASU. I saw how the both lines were playing and felt the game was over. It was just going to take time to wear them down.

Yesterday I saw the OL push the DL 3 yards back in the 4th.

The OL deserves a lot of credit. We all know how special the D is.

When they got over the disappointment of the loss at Michigan and rebounded with a win at Oregon. We lost a captain from offense, a captain from defense, and a captain from special teams in that Michigan game and still bounced back with a win at Autzen. That's big time.

When I came home, flipped on the tv, and saw Colorado 21 Michigan 7.

I watched most of that game. When it was over one thought kept coming back - we had that game.

I knew then this season would be different. I just didn't know how much different it would be.

With the past decade in the rear view mirror, the season has been way beyond my expectations.

When Witherspoon came down with the interception against Oregon.

What he said.

I don't care if Oregon has turned out to be ****ty, in that moment, finding a way to win that game in that stadium in that situation - I knew we were a different team than we had been since joining the Pac-12 (and well before that). The Stanford win was unexpected, but ever since the Oregon game, I've believed that this team can win games that we would have written off in years past.

Oregon was the first one where we flipped the script from years past and hung on to find a way to win whereas in years past we found some very, very creative ways to lose virtually every single close game we played in. And in a way, I guess that's one of the narratives of the season or the MacIntyre era. Everything is a process and we were a better team than our record indicated in both '14 and '15. Certainly not world beaters, but a far cry from the embarrassment we were under Embree and they simply couldn't find ways to get it done. Oregon was the watershed moment where WE were the ones who found a way to win in what had been a house of horrors for us and where we overcame adversity coming off that tough loss in Michigan by winning without our unquestioned leader on offense.

And it's not only been a process for the players, but for MacIntyre, too. It took him a while to adjust himself and his staff to that level of competition also and he made some coaching hires that are vital to our current success and recruiting class we're about to bring in.

Arizona.
It's one thing to expect to win. It's another to be pissed about the way you blew a team out. On the road.

The win over oregon, that had loss written all over it pre game. Sefo out, another pac 12 road game. They showed me something then and haven't looked back.

Michigan. First half. We are on the rise. This is real and we are in for a ride

Me too. My thoughts in that first half were, "hey, we aren't completely overmatched here." I didn't think we'd have any chance at the playoff then, but I thought if we could hang with Michigan in their house then we could hang with anyone and be looking at 8 or so wins. We've even exceeded that lofty dream.

Mine wasn't so much as seeing something in the team, but I felt we had gone to another level when Rick George was hired. No one was calling it the Rise then but we actually hired someone from the big leagues, a true professional. As each step followed.... he didn't let his ego fire Mike Mac, fund raising for the new facilities, observing the teams growth from a long term perspective, the new facilities...... much of the Rise is Rick George as much as anything else.

Lots of people bought into the kool aid early. I'll have to take your word for it.

Against Michigan I was shocked at how well the team was playing them, but plenty of bad Buff teams showed up for a game they had no business in throughout the years.

I still had to be shown they weren't going to let down. Still kicking myself for not going to Autzen.

I knew this was a bowl team after winning at Oregon, although Michigan had all but assured that in my mind.

I knew we were on the verge of potentially doing something very special when we smashed ASU (a team at the time ranked #24 in the Coaches) and then went on the road and beat a Stanford squad (that probably ends the season 10-3 and well inside the top 20) by holding them to essentially 3 points.

When I was livid about letting the USC game slip away. I knew that we were going to demolish ASU after that game and realized how special this season was.

Same as OP and Wasian. The ASU game never felt in doubt after the loss at SC. I new they would win, and win big. I can't remember the last time I had that much confidence.

I realized after the first quarter of the CSU game that this team was different and that a bowl game was a legit possibility. The Rise phase 1.
I realized at half time of the Michigan game that if this team believes in itself and could fix special teams a bowl was a lock and a mid tier was possible. The Rise phase 2.
I realized after Oregon that this team was definitely going to a mid tier bowl. The Rise phase 3.
I realized part way through ASU that this team could compete for the south and an upper tier bowl. The Rise phase 4.
Ever since phase 4, I find myself in complete disbelief that this team has a chance to be conference champs and play in the playoff....I still can't quite believe it.

i knew we had 6 wins in us after csu curb stomping.... after road win at dux i knew we could win the pac 12 south....dux were still playing football when we played them coming off a very close road loss to the corn ****s...

Michigan game is when I thought this season was going to be different. The Oregon game was when I knew it was going to be special.

It was second quarter of the Michigan game. I went with my dad and cousin who are wolverines. I wish I knew what the score was, but Michigan had finally stopped us on 1st and 2nd down and it was our first important 3rd and 8-ish. That's when I noticed it. The crowd starting nervously cheering on their Wolverine defense. The crowd could sense we weren't just another team that they could toy with. We didn't get the first down but I remember the sense of relief the crowd had after that play.

The majority of the first half, the way our offense and defense looked, after every big play of stop, I'd tell my dad, "wow, we belong!" That's when I first thought we made the jump from what we were to a competitive team in a power 5 conference.

May 2015 - When the movie poop thread became a protest against sucking.

I stared at the screen in hopeful disbelief during the Michigan game until Sefo went down. Montez not completing a single pass for the rest of the game took the wind out of those sails.

The Oregon win told me we were going bowling.

Beating a finally healthy Stanford team on the road was when I knew it could be special. Not just winning, but winning with defense.

Oregon game. Would have been Michigan, but losing Sefo and Montez's performance scared me off. Oregon made me a believer. Haven't doubted them since.

The win at Oregon, and the way that the coaches and team reacted. Michigan seems like a good choice too, but we lost that game, and at the time, it fit nicely with plenty of other agonizing or close losses to much better teams in 2014 or 2015 in which we came up short.

What I've been pondering the last 48 hours is, "What was the low point of the Decade from Hell?" For me, it was 2012, specifically that loss to Fresno State, although others to pick from that season.

The loss to Fresno or the loss to Toledo are near the top for me.
