The day he was set to return to Boulder after winter break, Austin Vincent was informed that he was being suspended for the spring semester by the CU Office of Judicial Affairs.
The freshman wide receiver has appealed the ruling due to some unreported elements, but even if overturned it is simply too late in the game to get back into classes for the semester and to maintain the progress towards his degree and to retain eligibility for the 2012 season.
While Vincent is extremely disappointed with the situation, he is acknowledging his own mistakes and looking forward, rather than dwelling on the negative.
The 2011 recruit from DeSoto, Texas, has enrolled at Cisco College in central Texas, about two hours west of the Dallas Metroplex. Vincent will be taking classes to stay on his eligibility track.
The plan is for Vincent to complete spring courses at Cisco and return to Boulder this summer to work with his CU teammates and re-enroll at CU in the fall.
Vincent wanted to pass along this message: "Hopefully I return really soon. I just want the Buff fans to know that I am moving forward through this rough time in my life."
