Who Steps Forward in 2016

With another year in the system and a full year with JMFL, I have a few questions:

  • Who has the most room for growth?
  • Who has plateaued in talent?
  • Who will make the most gains this upcoming year?
  • On both sides of the ball, who will be the biggest surprise?
 
I would expect Isiah Oliver to make a nice jump on defense along with Carr on the offensive side of the ball.
 
I agree with Oliver and Carr and also think Dylan Keeney will become much more of a threat and that NJ Falo will make big strides as an ILB.
 
  • Who has the most room for growth? Nick Fisher/Isiah Oliver
  • Who has plateaued in talent? Chido, not a bad thing, he's amazing.
  • Who will make the most gains this upcoming year? Franke
  • On both sides of the ball, who will be the biggest surprise? Bobo, I think DC will get more production out of him.
 
I hope it is Sefo. He's been an exceptional Buff through some adversary. An increase in accuracy from him would be huge for the team!
 
The OL needs to step up period...IMO. If we had a competent OL we may have gone bowling IMO. Sefo is good enough to win...he's not clutch but with a good OL he can win for us. Our WR are not great, but good enough if Sefo had time to hit them. Our RBs aren't great, but with a better OL they are good enough to create a balanced attack. I still can't believe Bernardi is still on staff...ugh. Our D was okay and will get better this season. And with Neinas gone and hopefully DC helping with the hiring of a new ST coord, those will improve. So without a significant improvement in OL play I have absolutely no reason to think 2016 will be any different.

But to answer the OP...
  • Who has the most room for growth? Witherspoon
  • Who has plateaued in talent? Adkins or Sefo
  • Who will make the most gains this upcoming year? Carr
  • On both sides of the ball, who will be the biggest surprise? Gordon (O) / Oliver (D)
 
Oliver and i hope carr and bobo if our oc can figure a way to actually USE them. The 4 back rotation has to stop.

We need some OL to step up but not confident in starters or deprh.
 
Somebody at WR (behind Fields). Basically somebody has to

The important improvements will come from players that have the underlying physical size, speed, and aren't injury prone to be legitimate Pac-12 players. This makes for a small pool of candidates. Clearly Oliver is a prime candidate. Fields needs to take a big jump forward to be a #1 WR.
 
  • Who has the most room for growth? All the WRs now that Spruce is gone and DC is their coach. (Walters on-field results belied his popularity here.)
  • Who has plateaued in talent? Evan White
  • Who will make the most gains this upcoming year? Keeney and Carr on "O". Falo and Franke on "D".
  • On both sides of the ball, who will be the biggest surprise? Montez and Lisella
 
I would like to see Jaleel Awini moved to running back and see what he could do. Next year we do not have a big back and Jaleel at 220 with some speed makes for an interesting dynamic to our offense.

George Frazier should be able to handle the big RB role.

The absolute LAST thing this team needs is to take away a LB and move him to RB.

It sucks that were still 2-3 years from having a great team again.
