Who will be the breakout players for CU this season?

I think JVD can be a very productive player and still not be a “breakout” player simply because he plays next to Nate effing Landman.

I’ll go with Mangham. Somebody has to be productive at RB for this offense to be effective. He seems like the most likely candidate at the moment.

That is exactly why he will be a breakout player, teams will on Landman and JVD is going to clean up.

someone at RB

someone at corner opposite Abrams

someone at safety other than Perry

someone at NT/DE other than Johnson

someone at QB that actually challenges Montez

Davion Taylor at Star (kind of like the former Buff Back position). As a college senior, this will be only his 4th season of playing football. Fastest guy on the team (finished 5th in the 100 meters at the PAC-12 Track & Field Finals in 2018), and pound-for-pound is the strongest guy on the team. He's a freak, and maybe can wreak some havoc out there with a season of D1 ball already under his belt. I'm sure that Tucker has a few plans for him...

Off. - Mangham
Def. - Van Beast, and by breakout season, I mean that another LB plays close to Landman's level so it doesn't seem like Landman is making every running play tackle.

because Not Sure has a good point that playing next to Landman makes it very hard to seem like a breakout player.
