I put Webb as 1 just because he has college game experience and more reps, Wood hasn't been a #1 qb since probably high school so has less 1st team reps and game experience.

I've got Wood.

This isn't the best looking olympian thread (still shocked by Ellen Hoog) or the Oregon cheerleader thread.

I certainly hope Wood steps up and wins the job. He is the more physicaly gifted guy and his athletic ability would make him a bigger threat to the defense. With a team that lacks outstanding playmakers so far we could use that.

I've said it before and I think it's still true. Embree needs to get off to a quick start. Webb and his 2 years of starting experience give him the best shot to do that. I don't necessarily think that he'll start for the entire season but I think he'll start game 1.

Wood will start but Hirschman and Webb will give him good competition, won't be surprised if Hirschman wins the job.

It is between Wood and Webb, for sure. We need to win NOW. I'm saying it will be Wood because of his time in the system. Just have a hard time seeing Webb coming in cold and winning the starting position.

That's how I see it as well. Wood has been here for quite awhile now, he should have a pretty big advantage over a guy that just got here a couple of months ago.

Echo DBT above but I think you will see Webb in games 1 and 2 in order to see some contrast.

We are writing off Hirschman because of injuries and that awful performance vs. ASU, which may not be fair to him. But I tend to put a lot of weight into "trial by fire" and that was an epic F. I was actually embarrassed sitting there with all my ASU friends (I grew up there). They were laughing. Of course, there were lots of laughing moments for them in that game, even after Hansen came in.

Do is this a bad thing that nobody has stepped up. Or a good thing that the talent is so good.

I'm going to go with bad and somebody needs to step up soon so they can get a lot of reps with the 1's

Fall camp hasn't even started yet.....

More bad than good right now. Our depth chart there is much better than it was in December 2010, but still not exactly scary to other teams.

I think Wood starts, but both he and Webb will get multiple starts.

this is even worse. How can it be a four way battle if Hirsh is still hurt and Dillon is still recovering from surgery? Does that mean both Wood and Webb look that bad?

It's a 4 way battle because our 4 QBs have only a handful of snaps for CU combined and Hirschman has all of them and looked not good.

The past few years there was little hope that we would get stellar QB play because we pretty much knew what we had going into the season. This year there is some hope of above average QB play if only because we really have no idea if any of these guys are any good. It's why the incoming frosh QB is always everyone's favorite player.

Webb. The fact that they brought him in about half way thru Spring Ball tells me they aren't confident in Wood. Embo doesn't wanna wait and goes with the more proven QB

elaborate

Duff can certainly speak for himself, but I'm guessing that he echoes DBT's sentiments that this thing is really a two-horse race between Webb and Wood. In my opinion, it's Wood's job to lose, but based on his apparently shaky spring performance, he may do just that.

I also voted Webb just because of his game experience. He may not finish the year as the starter, but I think he will walk out as the starter for Sept 1.
