Why don't we schedule any non-conference games in Texas?

Why have we not set up more games in Texas? It would help recruiting Texas players. We are doing better in the Lone-Star state; but we could use all of the help we could get.

Withe such a challenging PAC-12 Schedule, we would not need to play UT or A&M, we would be better off playing Rice, Houston or SMU for now. More exposure to a recruiting hotbed, seems like a no-brainer. Am I missing something?

Arizona beat us to the Cougars (home and home 2017-18) announced just this past season.

I'll bet we do eventually -- scheduling is done years in advance.

Because the only teams that would schedule us aren't worth a 1 and 1. Sure it might be nice to play North Texas (Denton) or Texas State (San Marcos, but basically Austin), but that would cost us 2 home games. No thanks

Rice plays some of their bigger non-conference games in Houston (Reliant Field). I'd be up for a 1-for-1 in that case.

It's kind of tough with the 9 game pac-12 schedule and the obligation to play CSU in Denver. We're looking at one non-conference away game every other year.

I wouldn't mind playing TT, TCU, or Baylor (when they come back down to earth). I guess TCU preferably to get into the metroplex.
