Why Not Diaco Or Kirby Smart ?

Supposedly Diaco is kindof a knucklehead. Some of the comments his players make about him are entertaining.

Still - he has been pretty solid this year!
 
Diacos the DC....but we would need to pair him with a big name assistant from out here because of the lack of experience coaching in Pac 12 country IMO. (Think Justin Wilcox with Butch Jones as an example)

Diaco caught grief from his players last season, encapsulated by Darius Fleming, who described some of the​
obscure ways
his defensive coordinator related to his players.​
“We’ll just be going to 11 on 11,” Fleming said before the Sun Bowl, “and then he’ll just bring up some kind of story that he feels relates to the topic. But we don’t. So we’ll just go along with it. Just like ‘yeah, yeah, that’s really good coach.’
“I mean, he’ll talk about turtles. He’ll talk about scorpions. I think he might have read a lot of books when he was younger or something like that. But he’s always got a story for something.”​

Diaco has star-coach written all over him. We should at least see if he is willing to listen.

What's impressive is that NDs defense has moved up the rankings every year he's been there. I think I saw that in the Diaco thread but I'm sure of that or the source. He does have a decent coaching tree lineage too. Simone will give him shot sooner or later.
 
I think Kirby Smart is perfect. Need to find out what his buyout is. He may be hungry for his first HC gig, before he moves on to an SEC school HC job.
 
Go after Diaco, just know that if he's remotely successful, he'll jump at the first B1G job that he's offered.
 
I don't understand why we're not at least talking to Diaco. Well, I do know why, it's because Bohn is insisting it has to be someone with HC experience. One thing I've heard about Diaco is that he's kind of awkward in front of the media, which would actually fit in well given our recent media happenings.

Yeah but auburn sux. They fire a HC two years after winning the MNC. His house would be burned to the ground Bama fans for his traitorous flip. Those people take their football way too serious. They poisoned their oak tree, they'll destroy smart if he went war eagle. It's like having 2 brenaska cornholer teams in the same state.
