Jeff Thomas is a RZ threat

If we are pinning all our hopes for an effective offense next year on the shoulders of Jeff Thomas, we have serious issues.

Haha. I think we have serious issues regardless of the status of Jeff Thomas....unless the bar has been set so permanently low that the definition of "serious issues" is whether we think beating a four win season is the new standard.

The hell are you talking about?
This is going to surprise some of you guys, but I am not all in on JT. Apparently he had some off the field issues. On top of that I don't know what his real 40 time is but he was not thought of as a burner and on Rivals he was listed as a 4.66 40 guy. Many think PRich could even be sub 4.4 or if not he is probably right at it.
So even if JT does see the field, not sure we have any real evidence that he can come close to replacing the stretch the field capability of PRich. I believe the hype when I see it, even if it is in practice in the spring. But when asked yesterday about who of the freshman redshirting this fall have impressed, HCMM did not name JT.
Instead he named Lindsay again (I think we should not overlook this guy b/c HCMM has been spot on when he says someone is impressing in practice) 2 of our DEs (including McCartney) as he said they have both gained good weight and will get to 250 by Fall and a few others. JT wasn't on the list.
Exactly. But it seems some people think JT could replace PRich and nothing we have heard suggests that is the case. And yes, HCMM seems to be batting 1,000% when saying someone is emerging from practice as a player to watch. This in stark contrast with WB&Co who made us believe that Dillon was our savior. Not sure where people got the idea that JT is a burner. He's a big WR, and so is McCullouch. JT has a lot more physical tools, but he is not a speedster.
I'd go with HCMM on this one.
