Will We Dance?

I think that we will make it. I have super high hopes for basketball. It is all I have left.

they have four teams from the PAC (Arizona (winners), Colorado, Stanford, and UCLA)

Those four teams, plus Cal and Washington, should be in the mix every year for an at-large bid. I don't see Tad getting any worse, or anybody passing him, so CU is going to be good as long as he's here. UCLA and Arizona should be good just based on their pedigrees alone. Stanford, Cal and UW have solid coaching that doesn't appear to be going anyplace soon. This *should* be a six-bid conference, IMO.

I think the Pac is still a 3 bid conference at best. EVERYONE needs to pull for all Pac-12 teams to win until the calendar hits 1/1/13. If the conference doesn't get some marquee wins, we're going to be in trouble.

We are right on the cusp...depends on the freshmen, which is always scary. If we get 2 Pac12 tournament wins I like our chances given we will have a solid RPI resume, but it's going to be a battle.

Totally agree, 3 bid conf this year at best. This conference needs to get at least 1 Win over a top-25 team this year.

Here is a list of good out of conference games to cheer for Pac-12 teams before conf play begins.

Before we start worrying about how many bids the Pac-12 can get, we have to see the conference surpass the Mountain West in our region. At the top, Arizona and UCLA haven't been as strong as SDSU and UNLV. Right behind them is New Mexico with CSU also being a likely tourney team. On the bubble are teams like Utah State (21 wins last year), Nevada (28 wins last year), and Wyoming (21 wins last year).

Pac-12 has some work today to be a clear #1 in the west. Until we're there, we won't get the national love to be considered more than a 2- or 3-bid conference. Hell, I don't even know if we can say we are clearly better than the West Coast Conference (Gonzaga, St. Mary's and BYU plus Loyola Marmount and San Francisco each posting 20+ wins last season).

Thinking bubble team that'll need a strong showing(finals appearance) in the conf. tourney to get a bid. They absolutely cannot limp in to post season play like last season.
