As I just mentioned in a thread set up for tennis, I've wanted to set set up some individual threads to keep up with the more individual Olympic sports (golfs and tennis) during their off-season, which in these sports still seems to include some intense competition.

For this thread, women's golf, looks like the team is off to a very good start-
  • And, just yesterday, the Buffs finished with a 9 stroke victory (with Illinois finishing 2nd) in a less competitive Coeur D'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational tournament in Idaho, but still a VERY impressive performance as MULTIPLE team and individual Buff scoring records went DOWN and the Buffs beat 17 other schools. (See http://www.cubuffs.com/news/2017/9/27/womens-golf-breaks-school-record-wins-in-idaho.aspx for a recap, and a list of the records the team set or tied.)
So far, looks like a couple younger Buffs have been leading the way, as sophomores Kirsty Hodgkins and Robyn Choi , both from Australia, have lead the Buff scoring at both tournaments, including Ms. Hodgkins winning medalist (1st place) honors in Idaho by 4 strokes, with Ms. Choi finishing tied for 2nd. Senior Brittany Fan has been the 3rd overall Buff scorer at both tournaments, while both junior Gillian Vance and freshman Alisha Lau have contributed scores that have helped the team over this early part of the fall season.

Looking forward, the Buffs have 3 tournaments in October (in Washington state, Hawaii and Dallas) to finish off the fall 2017 pre/ off- season.

you know a school has "arrived" when the fan board has a dedicated thread to off-season women's golf!
