Ex-Oregon Ducks football star Cliff Harris -- a former All-American kick returner -- was arrested for drugs early Sunday morning ... and it's clear his life is completely off the rails.
The 25-year-old was a stud back in 2010 -- when he was one of the most dynamic players in college football as a returner and CB and helped the Ducks win another PAC-12 championship.
But he was dismissed from the program in 2011 -- and his draft stock plummeted. He signed a contract with the Jets in 2013 but was quickly waived after he was busted for weed.
Now, officials say Harris was arrested around 1 AM on Sunday for theft, drug possession and possession of paraphernalia.
Officials also say he violated his probation -- stemming from a 2015 incident in which Harris set fire to a grassy median in Fresno, CA.
You can see his mug shot ... it's not good.

I grew up in Fresno, and still have family and friends there, so I follow local sports. Harris was All-Everything on a very good HS team in a very good conference, got the scholly to UO, and had some good success. He could have had a decent NFL career, but the drugs got him. Sad tale. Here is today's local story in the Fresno Bee:

A neutral court-appointed psychiatrist diagnosed Harris with
chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a degenerative brain disease that afflicts people who have suffered repeated concussions, such as athletes in contact sports. He was hospitalized after he lit a small grass median on fire because the court found that he was unable to assist in his own defense.

Holy ish he looks incredibly high, that's some next level **** right there. Hopefully he gets help because he's headed down a very dark road. Wouldn't wish that on anyone
