Xavier Johnson #34 in nbadraft.net's 2016 mock

Interesting.

I can see it, though. Not based on the past 2 years other than showing potential and some amazing flashes.

But if you look at in terms of the CU season, it's pretty clear that if the Buffs have a big year and a tourney run that it likely only happens if XJ takes a major step forward in his game with his consistency, ball handling, and ability to use his right hand. If he gives us what is in him from the wing position, he is definitely an NBA prospect. He's got the body, a soft shot and the ability to finish at the rim. But he's got to be able to play the "2" in the NBA and he hasn't shown the full skill set for that.

Its a big year for XJ...hopefully he brings the best game he has every night to work

And also don't provide anyone bulletin board material

When the hell has he pouted in a game? He has had issues with not being there 100% mentally for every game but pouting?

CU vs UofA ESPN Gameday.

Once we started getting our butts beat, he started hacking away at whoever had the ball.

He also bitches and moans to the refs rather than getting back on defense. Compare his reaction when he thinks he was fouled to Scott's.

Difference is they both get over it. XJ appears to let his frustrations build on each other.

A couple times, but not as often as Daaah is making it appear. Kind of reminds me of Daaah bitching about the attendance a few years ago when it wasn't true in reality.

XJ definitely doesn't do it every game, but he does it enough to notice.

Would love to see XJ get drafted but it would take a truly dominant year that includes big performances in the NCAA tournament. He's now a junior who has shown good but not great enough play to be considered. Those types need a big increase in production and a big performance in March to leap in to the top 35-40 prospects.

The problem is that XJ isn't as smooth about his bitching as Ski & Spencer are. Ski is the master at manipulating refs. And Spencer, well, we all know he's a top notch politician. XJ needs to learn those traits.

Ski is fun to watch when he's talking to the refs. I think he actually thanks them for the first call on him.

You are freaking impossible man. I didn't bitch about attendance, I said it looked 1/2 empty on TV and it did. There are empty seats all over the place in the front in all but the very biggest games (KU or Zona).

Everyone has faults. One of XJs is that he lets things get into his head and it hurts his game. He pouts and it costs the team baskets on the defensive end. He should recognize this fault and try to improve upon it.

he's got a little Sam Cassel in him.

He needs to learn to keep his head in the game too. No more pouting.

Not sure that resolving this is an NBA prerequisite, lots of head cases in the NBA. Not going cold or spending half the season moving into your shot when your a spot up shooter on the other hand...

Nice retreat and redirect. Good job, counselor!

Only one person on this board is allowed an opinion. FACT

If so I say we put it up for a vote. Nik seems to be the smart choice, but I kind of think it'd be entertaining to let Luke be the opinion maker on here for a while.

i love how tini and slider ****ing hate each other now.

we are going to be seriously dangerous if XJ can put it all together this year.

It sure seems like he's pouting to me every time he hangs his head and walks slowly back on D or to the bench.

Yep, but don't let that stop the needless bickering here

"Oh, that was on ME? You don't say? Well, thanks for pointing that out".

BTW- I've seen it, too.

Big, big year for XJ coming up. Simply put, he needs to take a big step forward in maturation/ the mental aspect of the game.
