I kind of liked this part b/c it reminded me of Water Bottle days last year and reinforced my opinion that we are a different and better team this year:
The incident comes at a difficult time for the Cal football program. The team is 1-8 this season, ranking among the worst teams in the country in many major statistical categories.

That whole athletic department is a mess. Can Missy Franklin still change her mind?
 
Dykes will have a brief tenure in Berkeley. Just not a good fit, hasn't faced a true rebuild (Dooley wasn't anything special at LT, but he laid the groundwork there for Dykes) and as we know, getting your ahead above water from the depths of the Pac is a tall order. He'll make his staff changes this year or next, we'll hear the chatter of how things have changed and how Cal is loaded with talent. When you've got the cancer of infighting and piss poor attitudes, it can be hard to eradicate. He's toast by 2015.
 
What a sad mess for them, but I am glad it is them. Gets some of the cameras and media off our backs.
 
Man, talk about a sleezy impression of an athletic department trying to sweep a black eye (sorry about the pun) incident under the rug.
 
I met a college coach that was on Dooley's staff at UT and he said that Sonny Dykes was the worst hire of the offseason. Said "The guy is a racist POS who won't fit in at Berkeley". Seems like he would've been a bad fit in Boulder also. Whew! Glad we didn't get him.
