You Can't Win at Altitude - DEBUTS TOMORROW NIGHT

Officially going to try and make this happen tomorrow... keep in mind that most of the students are in the dark on this one, so it may take a little bit for it to catch it... but let's see how this goes.

Students, please do me a favor and spread the word on this, we need all the help we can get. GO BUFFS!

Nope, no longer a student so I'm leaving it up to those in charge to handle it... Marketing Dept will have it on BuffChips, they're getting signs, the band and the cheerleaders are involved. CUnit is aware and will be doing what they can, I expect it'll take a few games to really take off.
 
Thank you for doing all of that, tzisk. Hope it works well, but even if it doesn't catch on this game, I say we keep trying. Could be one of the more badass traditions out there. Go Buffs!

Yes. You need to keep trying because it is likely to be completely disorganized the first time and won't go well. These things take a while to catch on.

Yeah, we will likely try it throughout the end of the season... it'll take some time for people to get what exactly they are supposed to do... hope it catches on quick.

Good Luck! Someone should take some video and post it so we can see how it went. I'll be there on Saturday for the second go round. I want it perfected by then please! :nod:

It was always a lot of fun at football games to see Chip tackle the KSU Wildcat (or whichever mascot) and shove snow in their face. Ritual sacrifice at center court would be allsome.
 
The major problem I see with the chant is this:

When yelling, "can't" sounds like "can" becasue the "t" is a silent non vocal syllable. So it will basically be yelling encouragement to the other team. Looks good on paper but when its loud it will just be "You can win at altitude."

A think a more negative chant would be more effective, like: "YOU WILL LOSE AT ALTITUDE" - You cannot confuse that for encouragement.

Meh. If they do it right and everyone gets into it, it won't really matter what words they are saying. It will look and sound awesome.

When I say, "can't," I hear a "t" sound. And I don't think the other team will ever think we are encouraging them. Especially when we are squirting them with blood.

I think a more negative chant would be more effective, like: "YOU WILL LOSE" - You cannot confuse that for encouragement.

This cheer gets to the point of the altitude advantage, would be unique to CU Boulder, and make the student section seem smart.

The TV announcers would comment about how clever CU college kids are, and then explain what VO2 Max means.

Didn't you guys realize that OSU's coach refused to blame the altitude for last year's drubbing in Boulder? :lol: This was the PERFECT night to start that chant.
 
Yes. 1. It needs to be changed to "you will lose at altitude"

2. They need to coordinate with the pa and the band.. They got drowned out

3. They did the chant wrong.

4. Keep going! It's gonna be sick
 
I would suggest 1 person in front of all the people holding the signs leading the chant. The people with the signs were a little to slow for the chant.

Agreed. They need megaphone or something because if they were yelling, I couldn't hear them.
 
Sounds so easy that Tini and UBL should do it. I'd bet it would go awesome
