"I'll say it straight out: our football team, even after the game, felt we were a better football team than them," Pelini said. "But you've got to get out and earn it. It's a humbling game. You give them credit. They made plays. ... We're a pretty good team, too, but we didn't execute at the times we needed to do it."

Not by my math.

On the other hand, I believe that Bo makes a compelling point. Let the record books show that nebraska was the better team, regardless of the outcome.
 
Our old buddy Mark Knudson wrote a column about the fuskers being a better team that SC, and pretty much blames the refs for the loss. Not to mention excusing Alonzo Dennard's Mike Tyson impersonation by blaming it on the classlessness of SC.

That's just embarassing....I am so glad we don't share a conference with crybabies like that anymore. CU got their fannies kicked week in and week out this year, and I don't recall anybody here crying and making excuses like that. Pathetic.

I watched the game and once SC caught that hail mary for a TD before the half I never thought neb was going to win

Not to mention Oregon. They called us for 10 penalties. I'm pretty sure we were the better team that day, they just didn't give us a chance. Not to mention their classless, big mouth players. You couldn't blame our guys for getting some calls against us...

I flashed back to that game when Wisconsin made their big first down catch. I knew they weren't going to have enough time to run that play if we didn't. That Wisc coach should have known to call a real play. I do (now)

I guess you are only writing what you think your fan base wants to hear. You must think Husker fans are terribly stupid and didn't watch the game themselves. The ones that actually watched the game and were sober enough to comprehend what they were watching know the Game****s beat the crap out of the huskers. NO IF's, AND's, or BUT's about it, the Game****s won the game fair and square. Congratulations are in order to South Carolina's team and coaching staff for a job well done. They took it to the storied Nebraska team and won every aspect of the game including the scoreboard. Anything other than congratulations is sour grapes.​

Blame it on the refs - the oldest and most common excuse for a loser. Nebraska will never ever be what is was back in the 90's - those days are gone with Osborne.
