Effects on Athletics:

Response to Allbuffs Question and Answer:

How do you view the role of CU athletics, and football in particular, within the role of the University?
Athletics and higher education have traditionally worked well together. If balanced well, one can augment the other in positive ways. A strong athletic program at an academically sound institution, like CU, make for an even greater institution. All athletic programs are important, but football tends to be the most public program in our region of the U.S. and we must be supportive.

What is your stance on the planned facilities upgrades?
Good programs, regardless of being academic or athletic, require investment and constant updates with regard to facilities. I am supportive of upgrading athletic facilities with funding derived from private fundraising, ticket sales, and limited fees.

Are you comfortable with the job the current Administration is doing with support and execution of athletic initiatives?
The administration is faced with many challeges currently, mainly declining state funding and rising tuition, fees, and student debt. CU athletics should not be forgotten, even in stressful time. My hope is that we can work to stabilize CU's financial situation and begin to invest time, energy, and resources into executing the kind of initiatives that will bring CU to greatness in the athletic sphere.

What is your vision for the future of athletics at the University of Colorado?
I hope to support an athletic program that augments excellence in academics, while bringing positive attention to CU through winning records and as many championships as possible.

Would you like to see the number of intercollegiate sports offered increased, decreased or maintained at the current level?
I would like to see the quality of the current programs increase before investing in more programs. As Regent, I would listen to the proposals and advice of leaders in the area of athletics regarding program expansion.

Do you have any specific sports you would like to see offered at CU?
I will support current and future programs that are quality and bring positive attention to CU.

Just marked the box for him. He is the only Regent I get to vote for this round which is a shame. At
least there is one who is answering the way a Regent should.

Filled out my ballot last night. Went ahead and voted for him even though I hadn't seen his response yet. Glad I did....

He's been on the side of the road waving to cars coming in to Boulder before games on gamedays. Not sure where he goes once the blowout starts.

He gets two votes from my house. First time ever that I have voted for a Regent based on anything other than party line.

Wanted to to bump this his opponent is still refusing to be interviewed by allbuffs (calling us "too partial") and from all deliverable signs, as well as the fact Steve Ludwig has been the Regent during this present debacle in my head it looks like Brian Davidson is the better pick for our AD.

Sounds like this is the guy to vote for considering Ludwig won't even respond. douche!

Thats 2 more votes for Davidson from this household.

Will Davidson give us a follow up interview when it turns out the (I'm guessing here) at least 200-400 vote swing caused by Allbuffs gives him the win?

Davidson seems to be campaigning a lot more vigorously than Ludwig. Ludwig seems to think he has this in the bag for some reason.

Thank god all my friends who voted who just went down the list and voted for every republican . +2 more
