I was field level on the opposite side of the end zone. I moved down to that end because I knew the hail mary was all we had left. I couldn't see Kordell but I saw the ball go up and come back down. I saw it get tipped and I saw Ty Law and a couple of other Michigan defenders and the ball falling to the ground. Then in slides Westbrook from behind them and score!
The few fans we had and the bench went wild. They didn't announce to score for like a minute. When they did they said something like "apparently Colorado scored a touchdown". They didn't change the scoreboard for like 2 or 3 minutes. I looked up at the stands and not a soul had moved. All stood their open mouthed displaying their dental work.
Wow!
Hey Miami, THEY NEVER CHANGED THE SCOREBOARD!!!!
I was on the 20 yard line, on the side Kordell threw it... all I saw was the ref's hand go in the air..... and then i got arrested
I though they did not change the scoreboard.
Explain why please Philly about the arrest.
ok.. ok... ok...
itll bore alot of others.... but I still love the story....
I met 2 friends from Michigan who were in Brian Griese's house.... I di dnot stay with them, but I showed up at their house decked out in Colorado face paint and CU gear. I went to the game with them and tried to sit in the Michigan section. I was quickly pelted with marshmellows and I left to the safety of the CU section at about the 20 yd line where Stewart threw it....
anyway, i managed to get into the front row... when Stewart threw the ball, i hopped on the concrete area in ront of teh front row... when I saw the ref's hands go in the air, I jumped onto the field and started to run towards the pile.... I made it to the 50 yard line and wa tackled by a Michigan U policeman... he handcuffed me to th ebench and went to get someone else. all in all there were 10 of us all handcuffed to each other and we were hancuffed to the CU bench. Fauria came over and patted me on the head and told me he would get me out.... anyway, we were taken across the parking lot to the Michigan U Police Station where all of the other 9 were processed. I was the ONLY one who blew a 0.00% breathalyzer.... and the policeman had no idea what to do with me because of all my face paint. I had no id also...
They ended up letting me go with a trespass ticket because I was sober.... anyway...
I was free walking outside about 30-45 mins after the game and there were Michigan fans who did not know they LOST!!!

The only crime I see here is 0.00% on the breathalyzer.![]()
Believe it or not, I still thought we had a chance at the last play. I was sitting there on the couch just waiting for it to happen, and it did!
I also had a bet with someone, they had told me CU had no chance vs. Michigan. After that game he was speachless!

They played Texas next if I recall correctly and really came together in that one. From there they played incredibly well.
.
Yea Philly, How in the world did that happen?
I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in April 1994 during my junior year. I had to take about 6 months off from putting any "bad" subtsances in my body until I was healthy.
I have more than made up for that period of soberness.

Good to hear there are no lasting impacts on you.
actually there is one..... has to do with collecting webbers.....:smile2:
That was the game where Salaam rushed for 317 yards in 100+ degree heat on the field in Austin.:wow:
After that he was put on the Heisman watch list and two weeks later he rushed for 4 TD's in a rout of Oklahoma.
ummm... that Texas game for us was HORRIBLE.... that was the hangover week and it took a Voskeritchian kick in the final seconds to win.... Thank God Rashaan could run, cause our passing game was CRAP that day!
i still absolutly love to watch that game. i thought it was one of the better CF games i ever saw.
did you know that at that time, Texas was something like 120-0 at home when scoring more than 30 points? im not sure 100% of the exact record but it was impressive.
my family and i were at that (UT) game. never been so friggin hot in my life. we didnt even really drink before the game and that is a once in a blue moon for us. it was just out of control how hot it was that day. not a cloud to be seen. barely a breeze. we were about 10 rows up, deep in the end zone in the CU section. if it were not for how good the game was, i would have killed myself i was so hot....
Michigan.....
little did we know that a week later at texas would come some earth shaking news from within our family. we also all made the trip to UM in '94. my oldest brother had my new nephew in tow. our seats were in the CU section. we were in sec 43, row 9. as best as i can remember, i saw KS launch that ball right in front of us. we all know the story from there.
the next week when we arrived at my other brothers place in dallas, we had a phone call from the wife of my brother with my nephew. he (brother) was in surgery for testicular cancer. :sad2:
thing is, he knew about it during the week at UM. we never knew.
that time in my life is forever with me for lots of reasons. the games were great. the experiences were among the best one could ever have as a college football fan. the time with my family i hold dear.
but, after all of these years. the thing that i am most thankful for is that i still have my brother around. i got to hang out with him at miami the year before last. i got to hang out with him at UGA this year.
i cant wait till the FSU game when i will (hopefully) make it back to colorado and get to hang out with my brother at another CU game.....
....that one balled bastard!!!!!
:lol::wink2::smile:
