Since joining the Big Ten, the Huskers have now lost 10 games by 30 points or more. Ten! By comparison, it’s happened to Northwestern four times. Minnesota three times. Iowa has lost by 30 once.

Have you ever seen a more delusional fan base?
They think they are repeating history from the turnaround from the 1968 Oklahoma debacle to National Champions two years later.

Yeah and frosty is just the whiner to get them there.

I was expecting a beatdown, but not like that! Part of me thinks that Martinez is entering the portal after this season.

I’m not sure how Nub fans can go on to think that their program is relevant, or being rebuilt? It’s time for them to accept it a total loss, and not try to salvage anything that once was!

That was good fun...now onto U of A!!

If he could somehow get himself eligible to play right away, I'd go after him if I were Mel lol.

It’s not so much a 41 point loss as a hard fought moral victory. They’re really, really close to having people worry about them.

I can’t wait for the Wisconsin game and watching that RB roll for 200 in a half. Lol maybe they will understand at that point.

Things that should worry Nebraska:
1. The hiring of Scott Frost was couched as a cant miss. After all, he was a successful OC at Oregon and took a winless UCF team from worst to first in two years. As I’ve stated before, the Oregon offense actually was trending down under Frost before he left for UCF. The winless UCF team had some key injuries and septuagenarian coach George O’Leary mailed it in his last season. The players were there, and it’s easy to fill any gaps with local talent in Florida. Scott benefitted from this.
2. Year two at Nebraska appears to be trending down as well. Offense actually looks worse, Martinez has regressed, and the assistants, mostly buddies carried over from UCF seem overmatched. The DC is terrible.
3. The recruiting footprint is still poorly defined. Nebraska really isn’t able to get back into Florida like they did two decades ago. The university, town, and state holds little appeal to Texans. They run at least fifth fiddle in the Big Ten footprint behind Michigan, OSU, Penn State, and Michigan State. And really sixth if you include Notre Dame. They’re probably now behind Wisconsin too, and on par with Iowa. They don’t have a great town or strong academics to sell. They are near the bottom in the Big Ten academically (and really would be near the bottom in most P5 leagues).
4. Other schools have caught up with Nebraska on strength and conditioning (steroids!). The walk on program is long gone, and no more partial qualifiers.
5. Probably the biggest advantage has been the great fan support, but sadly it’s become so overbearing that many recruits and players are actually turned off by the fishbowl that is Lincoln.

With great coaching, Nebraska can have some good years here and there, but I think in general they will be a borderline top 35 team on average. That’s really where they’ve been for the last 15 years, so it’s not like there isn’t a good sample size at this point. They are what they are, and most of their issues relating to academics, location, demographics, and recruiting footprint simply aren’t fixable.

If they're a fringe top 25 team, that makes us top 15 doesn't it?

****, I guess. There was a thread on one of their forums that devolved into an argument about whether we were better than Illinois or not. I think their train of thought was that if they could convince themselves that Illinois was better than us, that they could read that win as a turning point for their program. I don't know what's funnier: that Fusker has fallen so far that a win against Illinois could be considered a marquee win, or that they're pitting us against Illinois in a round of mental gymnastics designed solely prevent themselves from thinking about their own team's myriad of problems.

I want the Scott Frost era to be incredibly traumatic and terrible for them. I don't just want them to lose, I want the entire thing to be a trainwreck. I want him to have a major meltdown, I want there to be controversy, and I want their stupid ass fanbase to be divided. And then I want to beat them in 2023-2024 the way we beat CSU in 2016. And when it's all said and done, I want to think of Nebraska the way I think of CSU. I want Nebraska to become CSU.

They embarrassed themselves last night......again. I loved watching them suffer. I loved watching their fans humiliated again on national TV. How long will it be before the fans from Scottsbluff, Broken Bow, Hastings, etc all stop making those weekend trips to Lincoln for the games? How long before the sellout streak ends? At some point, fan support (which is all they have to be proud of) will begin to diminish. People won't put up with losing for very long before losing interest, even in Nebraska. Grab some popcorn, a beer or a pepsi, and let's all just watch this unfold. By the time we play them again in a few years, they will be CSU to us. I'm a very happy man.

Anyone who wants to “throw Martinez under the bus” or thinks the sky falling needs to grow up

We were 4-8 for 2 straight years, haven’t won a conference championship in almost 20 now

This team is clearly going to be 3-5 games better than last year...I bleed red just as much as anyone on this site but my goodness give Frost some time.

The team believes in him, the national pundits believe in him, the other high profile coaches believe in him but we have yahoos on this site who think the world is over.

Every aspect of this team is better than last year, we can still win the West and 8-9 games. I’m so sick of everyone throwing our players and coaches under the bus... it’s so laughable to anyone who’s not a Nebraska fan what our expectations for our team are...Same people who thought a monkey could win 9 games during the Pelini years

We will be habitual 9-10 W’s starting next year and then hopefully a few opportunities to pop off 11-12 W seasons a couple years after

Shout out to all the real fans out there that support our boys... so proud of this team and our Coach for sticking together and laying the foundation correctly

No panic whatsoever by our captains... couldn’t say that during 408 Melvin Gordon years ...

We’ll win the next 4 and our season will come down to the Wisconsin game

GBR

Well, it is now about college age kids who have never seen Nebraska win a conference or be relevant nationally.
Another generation of losing and they will start to pick teams from other states to be fans of. The state of Nebraska will host boat loads of Bama, Clemson, Iowa, Oklahoma and Colorado fans in 10 years.

That site is the king of the sunshine pumping mountain.

They ban people from threads and give them timeouts for going negative on Frost or the team/program.

Was trying to read it last night, but ran into several posts about how it’s the fault of fans for putting too much pressure on Frost with their negativity and because of these bad fans he is pressing. Therefore good fans need to be totally positive so he can relax and be the best Frost he can be. I managed not to hurl on my keyboard... barely.

They haven't learned anything since they choked like the Falcons here last month.

Problem is that far too many of their fans think like that in real life outside of the boards and the stadium.

Talk to your fusker fan co-workers this week (sadly far to common in Colorado and the other places that Colorado fans tend end up.) Despite the obvious they will not be able to understand how you cannot think that their team is wonderful and bound for glory.

To them anything that would suggest that the fuskers are not one of the great programs and due adoration and respect is beyond their ability to comprehend.
