Guess the Attendance: Arizona

Spitballing with this, but I wonder if bad Bronco football helps CU attendance-people in Denver-Boulder may look at this and think its a better use of their entertainment dollar.
We are going to need a lot more bad Broncos football coupled with good Buffs football in order to see anything like the effect you’re describing. Basically, 5+ years of sub .500 Broncos with 5+ years of 7+ wins for the Buffs with a year or two where they are in the CCG.

You're probably right. More than likely just a big crowd because its Family Weekend.

I've long assumed this is true to some degree. It's decently easy to observe that typically college CFB attendance suffers in pro markets, though there are exceptions, while many of the most rabid CFB fan bases are in markets without pro teams.

It depends. That assertion is true for teams like Alabama and hated Nebraska, but there are a lot of local NFL fans amongst the rabid at Ohio and Georgia, for some examples.

Hence the "though there are exceptions" in my post.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I can only just now bring myself to look at it.
@DeNiro was the winner and the average of 20 guesses was 51,523 - about a thousand under.
This is the first year with two sellouts since Barnett's last season in 2005.
They need to average 48,440 in the last three games to average 50,000 in a season for the first time since 2011. It's not impossible, but that USC game just took a major hit with this loss. Quite possible that they enter it on a three game losing streak, and weeknight games have underperformed my expectations the last few years. Stanford should draw a good crowd for homecoming. Washington will likely depend on the team's performance from now until then.
