CU players in the NFL

Viska only had one reception for -1 yards last week before leaving the game with a hamstring pull.

Has practiced this week on Wed and Thurs so very likely he will play this week but may be limited.

There’s a good case that he could’ve been a first rounder and make about 10x what he made on his rookie deal. But... making $150 million in his second and third deals certainly eases the pain.
And he ended up in a situation that turned out to be close to perfect for him.

Looks like Elway doesn't like Phil anymore.
He hasn't since the day Phil made the team as a breakout star. What it did was show that Elway was a poor talent evaluator by drafting others whom Phil beat out. Same this year. Elway will continue to draft RB's high until he finds one that beats out Phil. Can't have a UDFA showing up the superior GM evaluation ability.

Agreed.

It is a sad situation for Phil and he needs to go after this year and he can. On the drafting issue, and I am not defending Mr Ed by any stretch, but every team passed on Phil. It is just that Mr Ed continues to try and relegate him to the bench when other GMs would welcome the gem that is Phillip

I mean, at some point Fangio, Shurmer, and Curtis Modkins have to be accountable for their personnel decisions during a game. Klis doesn't Tweet disparaging remarks about Elway and he even chimed in about Lindsay yesterday.

Elway's ego gets in the way of making decisions. He is uber competitive but he is also going to do it his way.

He forgets that that the coach/GM that got him his rings was willing to sit some guys drafted much higher to start and feature a RB who was a 6th round pick, a TE who was a 7th round pick, and a WR who like Phil was an undrafted free agent. The first two ended up in the HOF, the last one probably should be there.

If I was him, I'd look elsewhere. I get Denver is his home, but **** getting 4 carries after two thousand yard seasons. That's a joke or a kick to the balls, however you wanna say it. Go somewhere that values winning, try to get that ring on your finger, you've earned it.

How well I remember the whining here over his signing: Too small (245); only two stars; better known as a LAX player; just no shot as a D-1 OL......and on and on!
Same with Solder: too small; where's Salida?; 3*?; anothe r slow, white TE?; are you kidding me?....

You can develop OLs----hardest position to predict with any accuracy--unless you're 6'5" 325 lb. 20 YO, freshman from Paxtahootchie Alabama, having spent 2 redshirt years on HGH, in an SEC program!

For every Bhaktiari and Solder that CU recruited over the years there are probably 10 others of similar rating that never developed or started a game

I don't necessarily think it's Elway who hates Lindsay, and people here think it's because he's an undrafted FA? Elway has taken many undrafted FAs and let them play, that logic just doesn't hold up. CJ Anderson and Chris Harris were notable undrafted starters on the superbowl roster and he's had plenty of other undrafted FAs make the roster in his tenure as GM. Maybe Elway does hate Lindsay but it's certainly not because he was an undrafted FA

People like to say Elway has a massive ego about his guys he drafted and brought in but I'm not even sure that's true. Paxton got cut after 4 starts, VJ fired after two seasons, Sly Williams, Shane Ray, Roby, Osweiler were never extended after rookie deals. Dumped Flacco and Keenum after terrible years. Does he make bad decisions? Clearly, however I don't see his ego keeping guys around longer than they should

Why wouldn't his ego take pride in finding and signing Phil as a UDFA instead of a pick? Was he not proud of UDFA Chris Harris?

Buena Vista please. Do not besmirch Soldier by insinuating he wore purple and played for the Spartans
