USC ALMOST A Game Thread - Covid Cancelled

Typical PAC 12 mouth breathing leadership being a day late and a dollar short on everything that matters. Let's make a last minute decision on something we knew would be a possibility for months. If these stipulations for makeup games are in place from day one, you could be talking real possibilities and numbers with OOC opponents IMMEDIATELY when you have even an inkling that your scheduled opponent may have to cancel. Instead, everyone is holding their dicks waiting to hear if it's even possible before money and logistics can get thrown around. This conference better un-**** itself quickly or it's going to land in obscurity.

If CU was 0-2 they would have been on the first bus to Boulder.

Meh. They'd probably still be arguing whatever force majeure clause exists for the entirety of this OOC schedule doesn't apply and we're "obligated" to play them there.........at least thats why the Rammie fans I trolled on twitter told me.

I could see a Sunday game vs Oregon getting setup. The conference views the Ducks as the best chance at the CFP and they need to rack up as many wins as possible, quickly. This is all dependent on UCLA not being able to play, of course.

There will be no game this weekend. Who in their right mind would agree to play a team they hadnt prepared for?

CSU and Wyo made some sense in this debate because a chartered plane, meals and a hotel wasnt needed.

Because they aren’t going to force a quick turnaround game that really ****s the next week of games. Oregon isn’t playing Monday and then Friday against Oregon state.
Well they would likely move next weeks game to Saturday, like they did with UCLA/Oregon this week. But I actually tend to agree that Monday is out of the question.

That's a good point. I didn't realize Oregon is scheduled for Friday. That said, at this point, I think they'll move games however necessary to keep inventory for TV. They can't afford not to.

Agreed. Monday is a stretch, but the Friday game could be moved if needed (hell, they could move it to Sunday).

The bigger issue is: both teams were set for a home game. Who travels? And how do they get their equipment packed into trucks and driven 20 hours to the location in time? The physical logistics are the biggest problem.

Vegas, baby. Vegas.

Exactly, it’s a logistical nightmare. Not like cal going to a school 5 hours away in the same state.

UCLA looks like they'll be able to play. Their losses are key guys (DTR) per 247.

Wonder what the number is there....

Different styles of play but UCLA with DTR reminded me a lot of the Buffs with Montez last year. Both guys with tremendous physical gifts and both guys who hurt their teams with a lack of leadership and with poor decision making.

Know very little about UCLA's depth at QB but it wouldn't shock me if they gave Oregon a better game without DTR playing.
