Games thread- (RV) Men's bball scheduled to be on the road @ #25 Oregon (Thurs., 2/18, 9:00 PM MT, ESPN2) & OSU (Sat., 6:00 PM, ESPNU)

Terrible last possession. That is what Tad drew up?
I would always run that play where you have a trailer behind the ball handler, so Kin drives hard to get the defender back, then pass back to the shooter, we were in a normal floor spread which is useless at that moment.

Coulda used something from one of Battey (ankle?), Daniels, Walton. We outrebounded them by 14 and still lost..34% and 22% wont get it. Granted Oregon is disruptive defensively. Desparately need a healthy Walker bsck.

Entire game was so ugly.
Oregon played about as bad as they could and we still couldn’t do anything about it. We scored 10 points in 13 minutes in the 2H, that is tough to swallow. Not only did the offense struggle in creating shots, but they missed the open one’s as well.
Wonder if we will make the tournament when we lose to UCLA and USC..
So disappointed..

So will the top 5 teams get byes this year because of AZ being disqualified? Will the first round be three games #6 vs #11, #7 vs #10, #8 vs #9? Then the three winners of those games plus the five byes is your "elite 8", and so on? Anyone know if this is how they will do it, or if it's some other weird bracket? Can't really do four byes like usual because that leaves 7 teams to play in Round 1. Can't do three byes because then then four Round 1 games would yield four winners to play three bye teams, and still an odd man out.

Trending towards a second round matchup with Stanford for us to open the tourney

Defense was tough and the effort was there. If we made some of those bunnies we probably win. If we didnt commit like 8 turnovers in 8 mins we probably win.

Battey is not himself. Dallas threw some bullets at the rim, geez. Daniels was ice cold.

I would start Horne. Get him warm and in rhythm early.

We really miss Walker. I hope he comes back at 100%.

Gonna be some pressure to win a couple more games now.

I listened to the 2nd half. Koa had EB with 4 TOs in the first 5 minutes or so. His ankle is effecting his game a lot. His Scoring is down too

I didn't get to see it, wtf happened? I mean I've read some of you guys posts, were they just missing open ass looks or was it Oregon's D or combination of both? They turn the ball over a lot?

I believe that Arizona is not actually disqualified, rather they're self imposing a tourney ban.

If you know anything about this program, you'll know we'll very likely beat both USC and UCLA at home.

Correct, the team isn't technically disqualified by the conference, they just slapped themselves on the wrist lightly in a year where they don't have much of a shot to win it anyway. Finishing Top 3 is a long shot now, but 4 or 5 are in play. Of course this year there's zero difference between ending as the 4 or the 5 since they'll play each other on a neutral court to start the tourney. If we're not at least in one of those slots, something horrible has happened, worse than last year's ending.

I have to say that Kin, Horne, Parquet, and Schwartz must be on the floor as much as humanly possible! All can reliably shoot 3's and shoot FT.

Kin and Horne are the best two players on this team and even though Horne has only been here this year, he must be on the floor as much as possible. He is not a role player, he is not a sub, he is a very experienced and successful player that knows what to do and has a very versatile game.

Right now, Evan is hurt, and Dallas is not reliable, so they should split each other's minutes on and off the floor. 10 fouls, 2 guys, hopefully, 12 points.

Kin and Horne are the primary offense with Schwartz needing to put in double-doubles, and Parquet on lockdown and hitting his shot when it is open.

Kin is tired, Key gets a few minutes

Horne is tired, Da Silva gets a few minutes

If either Parquet or Schwartz is tired, then maybe Daniels gets a few minutes.

Then, the secret weapon is Jabari!

All the other garbage lineups and garbage offensive sets just do not work.

Kin on motion, Horne anywhere, Schwartz and Parquet on a drive and dish, maybe toss a few in and out of the low block to either Dallas or Evan.

How much longer is Jabari going to be out? I assume the answer is, “Nobody knows.”
