LaVontae Shenault suspended indefinitely.

Since he has not yet been dismissed from the team, and there are no reports in the Daily Camera referencing a police report, probability is that it is one of 3 rules typically broken by knuckleheads:
  1. Something academically related
  2. Breaking curfew the night before the game
  3. The infamous “second hand smoke”

3rd suspension, sounds like he is gone. I'm sure his brother has reached out to him. May have some deep problems.

I'm really sad for him. I know him and think he's a really good guy. And I also could see how he might run afoul with team rules from time to time.

Sometimes it takes a while to process the trauma we experience when we're young, and it can emerge in unproductive ways.

He's a talented player who I selfishly would love to see making plays for CU. He's also a young man going through the struggles and making the mistakes involved in becoming an adult.

It is unfair to him to speculate on what the issues have been as far as team rules much less having "deep problems."

What we do know is that he tragically lost him father at a young age and while mom has done everything she can there are times that a male role model is a critical part of figuring things out.

Indications are that LaViska has often served as that male role model and that LaVonte looks up to him and respects him.

Have to wonder if it may be better for LaVonte to transfer to someplace close to Jacksonville so his brother can be a more direct influence on him.

In the end I'm sure he is going to end up okay. He has a strong, loving family and at heart seems like a really good kid. I would hate though to see some silly or bad decisions right now cost him his chances to get a free education and some other opportunities.

He and his brother channeled their grief in totally opposite ways. It honestly may do Vontae some good to transfer to be closer to his mom or brother.

If he was gone, I would imagine it wouldn't have been announced that he was suspended indefinitely.

Also, given his family, I think the AD may do everything it can to get him help and guidance and put him exhaust every chance to help him succeed.

Probably related to Covid, teen suicide is at an all time high nationwide and in Colorado. Life can be taken from us quickly and that's gotta be particularly disturbing for young people. Like the adults who won't go back to work, there's a lot of odd behaviors that are not related to being "bad people "

None of the stuff I’m hearing about him seems all that egregious. Lots of relatively minor stuff that just kind of keeps happening. Feels like that’s the kind of stuff you can give a lot of rope for.

I'm lost. Is this post related to Shenault or did you mean to put it in another thread?

Hope it’s nothing serious. That said, don’t think we plan on using our WR this year anyway based on the first two games

I might be the Allbuffs member with the most posts who never before quoted the oft-cited "Adam"

Possibly not taking care of his probation requirements from his DUI
