No change with play calling duties during bye week

Given that CU is 25th in the FBS for rush yards as a percentage of total offensive yards, and Arizona is 117th in terms of opponent yards per carry, I fully expect that this week's "subtle changes" are a full conversion to air raid and that Chev will call 60 passing plays this week.
Calling 60 passing plays would assume that we make enough first downs to have 60 plays.

Not sure we can do that.

I don't want to see us throw it sixty damn times. Thirty, I'm cool with. We need a running game, though. Tired of the D being out there all the damn time.

CU is running the ball. Not effectively. But run to pass ration, even in games where they are behind, is pretty staggering al least to me.

All I was saying is, don't abandon the running game. You want to make it a 60/40 pass ratio, assuming we can block anybody, that would be fine too.

Just to make me sadder, I looked it up. We are the second worst in the FBS in First Downs. 71 YTD. Kansas is the only one worse at 59.

Please note KU has played one less game that CU, so...

If CU is behind at the half by >10 and hasn't moved the ball, don't you think we'll see a trial run of Drew Carter at QB?

History says no. My guess is the coaching staff views this as their best shot at a win and being able to claim things are fixed. They aren't going to risk playing an inexperienced (due to their own mismanagement) QB.

Everyone looking at @BuffsNYC

season 5 richard GIF

My expectation is no change before the new Pac-12 media deal money for 2024.

So my focus is on organizational culture, structure & staffing.
I agree with no change. I just don’t see any impetus or desire to change beyond mediocrity at best. Look across the CU sports landscape. Middle of the pack is lauded, shooting for championships seems a bridge too far.

Meaning KU is averaging more first downs per FBS game…

So safe to say the rest of this year and at the very least next year are going to be an absolute drag?
I think you are off by quite a bit. I think with the lack of recruiting taking place, if this staff is allowed to stay on board thru next year, you are looking at 5 plus years once a change is made. This is is a roaring dumpster fire of epic proportions

I think this coaching staff will be given another year even with a 1-11 or 2-10 season. The university is complacent and so is HCKD. Even with angry fans, it is easier to do nothing. No changes, no surprise. Another five years of this idiocy is about right.

I was not a fan of the most recent hire, to begin with. I thought it was meh, that is what it is proving to be, and that is what the Buffs are going to be as a result.

Just think, RG has his chance to cement his place with such luminaries as Bitsy and Byyny....

Don’t you need to actually throw the ball to throw the ball

Well yeah, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't run it too. I'm not a big fan of an air raid type system or run and shoot. You can't run the ball, you probably won't win big games.

HCKD is so subtle he must be practicing the Dan Hawkins zen. Enjoy your oranges and juice boxes.
