2022 Offseason Thread

Just saying, and I say this from a place of experience, what Kelli has actually given might not be what you think it is.
I'm thankful for all that I'm sure Kelli has done but iiirc the bulk of her donation will be bequeathed.

Not downplaying it in any way. Her contributions and her passion are welcome and needed.

Just understand though that at some other schools she would be one of many and far from the biggest.

If we had another 10 like her then we would be getting somewhere.
Not one person is saying this or thinks this. Mtn gonna Mtn

Wouldn't be the craziest thing if the B1G invited the western AAUs to form a super conference.

Arizona
Cal
Colorado
Iowa State
Kansas
Oregon
Stanford
UCLA
USC
Utah
Washington

25 teams.

From there, go bigger with Notre Dame plus the ACC AAUs (Duke, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Virginia plus Syracuse which chose to drop AAU because it conflicted with its more liberal arts mission) to go to 32.

4 divisions of 8 teams.

7 division games + 3 against other divisions + 2 non-conference.

Conf tourney is either the 4 division champs or maybe those 4 + a play-in game for #4 vs the highest ranked non Div champ.

Winner plays the winner of the SEC super conference champion in a College Super Bowl that determines the National champion.

(in this scenario, SEC gets to 32 from 16 via: Miami, Florida State, Clemson, VA Tech, Arizona State, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Baylor, NC State, West Virginia, TCU, Louisville, Cincinnati, UCF, BYU and San Diego State).

Mental masturbation and off the cuff, but I think I'd be ok with this.

Shouldn’t this be something you do, you know, before July of the upcoming season? Before everyone is committed?
There are a lot of things they should do... Like effectively recruit, make sound in-game adjustments, etc...

Yeah that was my interpretation as well. This doesn't sound like we found a big donor it's just an excuse for the university to push the failures onto the fans by being able to say they didn't get enough money
Eh, that already exists and has for months now. I also don’t think you say things like “we will win another national championship” and “you won’t be disappointed” (when directly asked about the skepticism of fans about this hype) if it’s just the creation of a fund that fans can donate to.

I hope it is something more. Just having a hard time getting my hopes up

Due to lack of state funding, they’re taking CU private allowing them to dump the Board of Regents, bring in a brand new board of governors and clean house within the CU administration.

Next they’re establishing a $50M endowment for the express purpose of ensuring buyouts for head football coaches are fully funded in perpetuity. This endowment is called “The Guillotine”.

The new administration at The Colorado University will be filled largely with officials from BIG schools who have negotiated a move to the BIG as part of the conference’s expansion to 18 with the additions of CU, Utah, Oklahoma (who spurns the SEC), and Kansas.

Influx of new cash allows CU to purchase Boulder High School’s football field and develop it into a world class T&F and Lax venue which we add to the AD.

The Folsom bathrooms remain ****ty.
