Also, post your current Top 3.

Mine:

1. Bronco Mendenhall
2. Tom Herman
3. Paul Chryst

Obviously, I'm a "former P5 HC" vote.

My faves from the other categories:

Former NFL - Matt Rhule
Current G5 - Curt Cignetti
Current P5 or NFL Coordinator - Jeff Grimes
Current Position Coach - Brian Hartline

I doubt we can hire Chryst or Matt Rhule, so my top 3 is:

1) Tom Herman
2) Dan Mullen
3) Bronco Mendenhall

My buddy said he thinks we are limiting ourselves to former HC. He might be full of s***, normally is, but has proven to have good info before so with that in mind (removing Jeff Grimes) the second tier would be:

-Cignetti
-Traylor (I don’t think we can pay his buyout)
-Monken maybe? Doubt we go Georgia coordinator route again though

I still think the coordinator route we went with MT was the right play, but with Herman and Chryst out there I have to say I'd prefer them over most options. Plus other than Grimes, the offensive coordinator names swirling about aren't doing a ton for me so far

1. Tom Herman
2. Paul Chryst
3. Jeff Grimes

I want someone who has been a sitting head coach for more than a few years. I am of the opinion that a winner at any level can be a winner at every level. Lance Leipold, Chris Kleiman and Kalen Deboer come to mind immediately. Along those lines, I am choosing current "G5 or lower" HC. My top 3 are:

1. Bronco Mendenhall
2. Jeff Traylor
3. WILD CARD: Jay Hill

I'm not sure a coordinator at Alabama or UGA gives us the time of day after the Sark fiasco.

It won't even happen because he'll probably be an NFL head coach somewhere soon. Besides, Idk if he's even interested in going to the college game. Never know though, money talks and bull**** walks.
1. DaMeco Ryans ( no ****ing chance unless CU robs the federal reserve, if there is anything in it.) Talent across the board, but I love how aggressive they play.
2. Jeff Grimes. ( Texan and spent time in several different areas that are important. Plus, he knows O-line play which we need pretty ****ing bad.)
3. Curt Cignetti ( Been reading about this guy some. He seems to know his stuff. )
Could say a few more but the list is fluid at this time, and no I'm not Screaming A. :D

I think this program really needs someone who has been a recent HC at a P5 school, with decent academic standards. We need someone who knows how it's done at other large schools, and who has the gravitas to convince leadership to loosen some of CU's self-imposed restrictions. We need someone who will garner the respect of the President, Chancellor, and AD. We need someone that can identify and fix those things that will create hurdles for future CU football coaches.

Honestly, this team needs someone who can build a foundation for the program more than it needs someone who has connections in our recruiting footprint. We need someone who can work with the academics and President's office more than we need someone who has a modern offensive playbook or runs a great defense.

1. Herman
2. Chryst

Prefer coordinators in the grand scheme but since I get to pick a top 3 it has a former HC in it.

1. Herman
2. Grimes
3. Dunn

I'm fully on the coordinator route, but it sounds like CU is gonna CU and limit themselves for some dumb reason. Herman is by and far away my number one.

I'd really like to see a high powered offensive mind at HC, but would be fine with a defensive minded coach if he takes full control of the D and pays big for an OC.

1. Tom Herman
2. Jeff Grimes
3. Ryan Walters

I think my list is:

1. Herman
2. Mendenhal
3. Walters

I really want Marion as OC, under any of them - but I suspect Walters & Marion would be a dynamic pair, and we'd have some fun football games in Boulder again.

You not paying attention to any of the stories coming out about his recruiting?
In fairness, all the ones I've encountered have been behind paywalls.

A few references here and there about PC stopped trying to recruit is all I've seen.
