This is great news, but pardon my questioning - why would a kid with that offer list pull the trigger this early for a program when there is no clarity on who the HC will be during his career?

Flatirons doing serious work?
we know Dorrell wasn't -
Buffs recruiting has been stellar since he got fired

Flatirons kicking Karl’s ass on the recruiting trail so far
Not that KD exactly set a high bar.

Strange though what actually happens when a coach actually shows signs of life. You know, actually communicating with recruits, showing a little energy and enthusiasm, acting like something other than his paycheck matters.

Big get for us at a position of need.

Seems weird to say, but Armond Hawkins is the one staff member I absolutely want the new HC to keep. Promote if necessary.

Yep. The last two commits (Victory & Jordan) are a direct result of Hawkins. He's the only person in the entire football building I'd be interested in keeping. He could be lights out in recruiting with his connections in So Cal with the right coach.

So, whose idea was it to run the QB on an isolation up the middle right at this kid without any blocker for him? That's a really interesting discussion in the OC room. Gads.

He has an old-school middle LB look to him, with some speed. That's a nice combo.

Thing I like most from his film is when he hits somebody, they go no where afterward. He finishes tackles well. In coverage, he'll drop into that curl zone or go after a back and finish. He can build on his game too. Last thing, nice to see a player on D catch the damn ball. :D
