He won't have trouble finding a coordinator job. Pick the right one and he'll get another shot as a head coach, at least at a G5 school.
Part of this comes from SEC and a few other top programs scheduling body bag games late season to pad their schedules and make money without having to work hard at it. Georgia playing UMass, Tennessee vs. UTEP, South Carolina vs. Wofford, Clemson with the Citadel, following a similar line-up last weekend.
This is another part of the media and committees giving SEC schools credit for their wins even though they play less conference games and have the advantage of a late season break to rest key players

Fair. OSU did look incompetent offensively, but that might be AFA starting to put things together.
Wouldn't be surprised if AFA manages to pull 5-7 out.
Realize I have a rep of shïtting on the CFP, but I 100% think that's the reason there's less relevant late season games than in the past.
Simple math.
When the goal was a conference championship and there were 20+ D1 conferences, you had 2-3 teams in each in contention, making around 40-50 teams still in contention for "the goal".
Now "the goal" is the CFP, and there's maybe 16-20 teams in contention for 12 spots.
I would agree with you if there were a lot of games between teams with winning records but not really in the playoff chase. But it mostly just seems like good teams playing bad teams throughout the day.
I would also add that SEC schools adding November body bag games goes way back further than the CFP.
Simple math is that 12 bids versus 4 for the CFP plus a conference champ getting an auto-bid = there being a fvckton more relevant games than in previous years.
Sure, we're comparing different points in time. The 4 team CFP era probably represents an all time low and the 12 team expansion is a small step back.
This is why Boise St. being ranked where they are is driving me nuts
